"Hurry up! Someone's coming!" Says the small man.
"I'm going as fast as I can Adolf!" Yells the large man.
I feel dizzy and nauseous. My leg is throbbing and my scalp hurts from Lars yanking on it like a rag doll. I look down at my leg and notice the wound looks worse than ever before. The light blue stitches are hanging from my leg, like a loose string you would find on your sweatshirt. The pains too much. I can't take it anymore. I hear someone calling my name but I can't make out who it is.
"Miriam! Miriam I'm coming!" They're calling.
"Quick take her." Muffles Adolf.
Adolf. The names sounds awfully familiar.
I hear the pebbles on the ground bouncing and feel the ground shaking slightly.
"Get your hands off of her!" I hear someone scream.
"Take care of him." Adolf commands to Lars.
"Yes sir."
I'm still being dragged around by my hair, but this time by Adolf.
"Miriam! It's me Ari."
Ari? What is he doing here? How did he find me?
"Ari?" I screech.
"I'm coming don't worry." He says reassuringly.
Adolf and I are standing behind the van, so Ari can not see me.
"I'm sick and tired of this." Says Adolf.
He pushes me into the van and quickly reached for his pocket. He pulls out a gun, a small one, but still big enough to kill me.
"Get in the van." He says roughly.
My hands are shaking and my lips are sealed shut. For I am too afraid to move. To make a sound. Hoping that maybe if I'm quite he won't see me. That he won't kill me. That Ari and I will be okay.
"I'm gonna count to three." He says. "If you're not in the car by then I'm going to kill you and your friend."
I could hear punches being thrown from the other side of the van. Ari and Lars must be in a fight. I hope he's okay, I want to do something to help, but I don't know what.
Someone falls to the ground, and I can hear someone panting. I hope it's Ari. Please let it be Ari. Please.
"Miriam!"
It's Ari. Thank goodness.
He runs around the van and is stopped once Adolf points the gun at his head.
His eye is already swelling, and his arm looks like it's broken. He has scratches on his face but they're not too severe.
"Let her go." Says Ari desperately. "Take me instead, just let her go."
"No Ari, just go." I tell him. "Go before it's too late. Go before others arrive. Just go before they kill us both."
Ari looks at me for a moment, sadness approaches his eyes. I feel tears roll down my face, and then feel a rough hand put a tough grip on my shoulder. My face wrenches and Ari takes a lurch forward.
"Come any closer and you're dead." Says Adolf smiling, still pointing the gun at him.
Ari places his hands behind his head and watched Adolf shove me into the van. After I'm thrown in the back, I hear the door slam, and panic overwhelms my body. I start breathing heavy, and my eyes are beginning to water.
"Ari!" I scream. "Ari please come help me!" "Please."
*click. I hear the sound of a gun loading amo.
No, I think. No no no. This cannot be happening. This cannot be happening. I hear a gunshot and the thud of a body being smashed into the van. I sit in the back of the van, staring at the side of the wall where the body has been thrown. Is it Ari? Or is it Adolf? Please let it be Ari, please.
