"Hey! Your a Jew!" Says one of the men as they step out of the van, pointing at my Star of David pin, in which was pinned against my torn shirt.
I quickly look over my shoulder and down at my leg.
There is no way in hell you can outrun them, I thought, at least not with this leg.
But I don't give up, well not yet at least.
I briskly glance at my leg and then at the two men.
"Grab her." The larger man says in a deep, yet raspy voice.
And so the smaller man, rushed over towards me and tackled me to the ground, pinning me to the floor. My head hit the uneven pavement, and I felt queasy and slightly dizzy. I made numerous attempts to free myself from the small, yet strong man, but still I had no chance of escape.
"Get off of me!" I scream as loud as possible, hoping that someone would hear my screams of distress and would wish to help me, even though I knew that I was in the middle of nowhere, and the chances of someone hearing me were slim to none. But I still shrieked for help, I had a right to give myself at least a small amount of hope.
The small mans face was beginning to turn red with frustration and anger, due to the fact that I was not cooperating with him.
"Shut your damn mouth you worthless piece of shit." Says the small man.
I feel tears welling in my eyes but I squeeze them tight, forcing them to go away.
"Hey Lars, get over here and help me already dammit!" Says the small man.
The larger man rushes over to me and pulls my hair causing me to scream, pulling me to my feet.
It's quiet for a moment, and only a moment. That until I hear the sound of someone calling my name.
"Miriam! Miriam I'm coming!" Ari. Thank god.
