Nina

"Come on Nina. We're going to be late." Mum yelled upstairs. If there's one thing I hated it was getting up in the morning for school. Who came up with the idea that teenagers would have to get up earlier than the sun rises to go get an education when a scientific fact is the brain isn't fully awake until after 10am. Towards the middle of the year every school year midterms would come up. During this time I would spend my nights studying until around 3am. This caused me to have minimal sleep and maximum stress.

"I'm coming." If there's one thing I was good at it was putting up an act. I would act awake in the morning despite being half asleep.

"Tomorrow is midterms!" My father said patting my back. My father was always passionate about school. He lived and breathed studies which meant I had to be just as passionate in order to be his daughter.

"Are you ready?" My eldest brother asked.

"Jeff I'm practically an adult. You don't have to drive me to school anymore"

"Let's go. Can't be late again" my younger brother Chris urged.

"Maddie are you ready??" I yelled up the stairs.

"I'm ready." My younger sister ran down our wood steps.

"Alright everyone in the car. Midterms tomorrow." This happened almost every morning. My family is quite big. First there's my brother Jeffery (Jeff). He has the laid back personality where he can be friends with anyone. Then there's me; Christina (Nina). I'm friendly and nice to everyone but I only have one true friend. After that is Madelyn (Maddie). She's on the edgier side. Always getting in trouble. I love my sister but she's a pain in the ass. And lastly there's Christopher (Chris). His vibe is basically 'touch me and I'll sue' crazy right. We're all different but we get along just fine. Brighton had always been our home, ever since Jeff was 4 and I was 2. We're all two years apart. Jeff is 19, I'm 17, Maddie is 15, and Chris is 13. God bless our parents for living with all of these teenagers.

"Nina. We go through this everyday. I'm not going to ever stop driving you to school until I move out. And we all know that isn't any time soon." I rolled my eyes. He started the car and we all made our way to hell... I mean school.

-

When we got to school all of my 'friends' crowded the car. I say 'friends' because in reality I know they only like me to get to my brother. One thing I've always hated about growing up in a wealthy family is I've always had my groupies. It sounds like I'm bragging but believe me I could live without most of these people.

"Hi Nina." My 'friend' Rachel gushed.

"Hello." I said sweetly despite my annoyance. She quickly pushed passed me, noticing Jeff getting out of the car.

"Oh hey Jeff." She flirted, twirling a piece of her blonde extensions through her acrylic finger nails.  I mentally gagged, trying to maintain my friendly attitude.

"Is it just me or is she unnecessarily slutty today." Someone mumbled in my ear.

"Well good morning to you too Victoria." I turned to see my best friend rolling her eyes.

"Listen Christina." She cocked an eyebrow.

"Oh shut up and walk with me to class." I slung an arm around her shoulders, walking through the main entrance.

Tori and I had been best friends since middle school. We looked like we could be polar opposites. I always showed up to school in my mini skirt and ballerina flats, whereas she came in her ripped jeans and band tees. Yes we looked different, but as soon as I get home, I trade my skirt for skinny jeans and my blouses for All Time Low band tees.

"Are you ready for mid terms?" Tori asked stopping at my locker. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah and I'll give you the knife to stab out my eyeballs." She laughed opening my locker. The good thing about having a friend is you share almost everything, or maybe that the bad thing. Sharing wasn't weird or strange to Tori or I, we'd been sharing everything since we were 11.

"Hey shorty." Someone said leaning against the locker beside me.

"Can I help you Hemmings?" I turned to face the blonde boy.

"Don't be sassy with me. I was just trying to be a good friend and give you your breakfast." He laughed holding up a bag. My eyes lit up.

"Thank you Lukey." I said reaching for the bag. He quickly pulled it away.

"You aren't getting anything until you give your practical brother a hug." Yes you heard him correctly. Luke and I have been best friends since the age of 3 when he moved across the street. His older brothers Jack and Ben always hung out with Jeff and Luke would play dress up with me. (Don't tell him I told you that) I hugged the lanky boy stealing the bag away from him.

"I want some of your fries." Tori spoke up. I know what you're thinking 'Fries for breakfast? Nina that's disgusting' well here's an explanation. Ever since Luke and I were about 10 I've ordered the same meal from the same cafe down the street. A breakfast wrap which came with fries. Didn't matter what time of day, every time I was with Luke, I manged to order the same thing.

As I walked down the long hallway with my two best friends, I made sure to wave at everyone. I saw a flash of dark hair before Tori and I were lifted off our feet. I squealed knowing exactly who had disturbed my walk.

"Ashton put me down." I laughed at the cheeky boy.

"Calum put me down." Tori shouted. We were both set onto our feet, scowling at the two boys.

"Ashton you don't even go to school here. Go home." Tori scolded.

"I'm picking the four of you up after school. Meet me outside the main entrance for fun before midterms." He giggled before walking away.

Ashton is Tori's older brother. I found out that a couple of years ago Ashton actually had a crush on me, but Tori told him that he couldn't like her best friend which is understandable. Once Ashton got over his feelings him and I made a brother-sister type bond. You could say I have more brothers than I asked for.

As for Calum, he's Tori's boyfriend. He started out as Luke's best mate back in year 11 and where ever Luke was, I was. Call me clingy but that's the type of bond we shared. Anyways since I was with Luke a lot, Tori would tag along. As soon as Calum laid eyes on Tori, you could tell that he liked her. That was over a year ago. Calum admitted his feelings to Tori about 6 months ago and they've been together ever since.

"Shall we get to class gang?" Tori spoke up. Calum kissed her temple.

"Let's go, History can't wait all morning." We all groaned, trudging the rest of the way down the hall.
