Tori's POV

The following week I walked into school alone. Calum said he would meet after first period and I haven't seen Nina since the party.

"Well don't you look happy." Michael said, pushing himself off of my/ Nina's locker.

"You try not hearing from your best friend in three day." I replied opening the door of the locker that desperately need to be cleaned. If Nina were here, she would be all over staying after school to give our locker a makeover. Speaking of Nina.

"Hey. Have you heard from Nina?" I asked, turning to the boy with colored hair.

"Yeah. She said she was coming." He looked down at his phone. Not sure what I did, but I'm pretty sure she hates me.

"Did you talk to her all weekend?" He nodded.

"You didn't?" He questioned.

"She hasn't talked to me since the party." I sighed, shutting the door. I could see Michael tense up at the mention of the party, but I didn't ask about why.

"Tori. Can we talk? I need to get something out of my system." Michael spoke up after a moment.

"Is it about Nina?" He nodded. I rolled my eyes.

"Michael. Just ask her out. She doesn't bite." I really hate being friend with anyone, because they usually used me just to get to my best friend.

"I don't know how to talk to girl, let alone ask one out."

"That sounds like a you problem."

"You seem mad."

"Just a little."

"What for?"

"Michael I know you're being friends with me to get to Nina." He stopped in his tracks.

"Tori that's not true." He grabbed my arm to keep me from walking away.

"I doubt that. We're not friends if you're just going to use."

"I'm not using you. I'm asking for advice because you seem to know her really well. I was friends with you before before I noticed her."

"I'm sorry, I'm just worried about her." I sighed, sitting in my seat.

When the bell rang for lunch, I was desperate to see Nina.

"Hey Tori. I talked to Nina and she said for lunch she's going to be in the library. She also said to tell you to come over after school, and that she'll explain later." Michael said looking up, as if he was trying to remember what she said.

"Okay thank you. Did she say what she was doing in the library?" I asked, walking with him to lunch.

"I would assume homework." He replied, following me to our lunch table.

"Babe you look upset. What's wrong?" Calum asked.

"I haven't heard from Nina since the party and Michael just told me that she wants me to come over. I don't know why she won't talk to me." I sighed. Calum rubbed my back, trying to calm my nerves.

"If it makes you feel any better I haven't heard from her either, and I live across the street from her." Luke sighed, playing with his food.

"I'm not going to sit for forty minutes and be depressed. Its lunch for gods sake. Let's talk about something else. Michael how are you?" Ashton spoke up. Michael swallowed his food.

"I'm good." He replied.

"Michael's heard from Nina." I deadpanned. Luke slammed his hands on the table, getting up to throw away his food.

"Um okay..." Michael said awkwardly.

"Michael also likes Nina. He just won't admit it." I couldn't stop my mouth from the words my brain had stored. Ashton choked on his drink for a bit.

"Tori." Michael scolded.

"I want to make a bet with you." I said sitting up, ignoring what he said.

Michael looked at me, as if telling me to continue.

"I bet you aren't going to ask her on a date. You're just going to confess your feelings and kiss her."

"I second that." Calum said.

"I would not do that." Michael tried to defend himself.

"If you take her out on a date, I'll give you 20 quid. If you don't and just kiss her, you owe me 20. Deal?" Michael though about it for a bit.

"Deal."

-

I knocked on Nina's front door, waiting for someone to let me in.

"Hey Tori. She's upstairs" Nina's mum said, moving to the side. I thanked her, climbing up the soft stairs. I knocked on her bedroom door.

"It's open." She replied. I opened the door slowly to see my best friend curled up in a big blanket.

"Want to tell me why I haven't seen you since Friday." I sat down on the end of her bed.

"Yeah I guess I should explain." She said sitting up and crossing her legs.

"I'm all ears."

"Jared attacked me." She said playing with the hem of her shirt.

"What do you mean?"

"He started kissing me and I struggled to get away. So when I didn't cooperate he-" She paused wiping away a tear.

"He started to beat me up. Kicking my stomach, slapping me. And then Michael found him beating me and told him to stop. When Jared didn't listen Michael p-punched him, so I ran out and didn't make it further than the front law. Michael then found me again and we went for a ride. I didn't know how to tell you please don't be mad." Tears were slipping freely from her pale blue eyes.

"Nina. I'm not mad. I was just worried." I hugged her.

"I was so scarred and I couldn't go to lunch today because I didn't want to face him." She shook in my arms.

"Are you okay now?" I asked pulling away.

"I will be." She sighed. Nina isn't the type of girl to get upset unless she feels it's a big deal. This is definitely a big deal.

"Do you want to watch a movie with me?" She asked.

"What are we watching?" I laid down next to her.

"We can watch All Time Low Straight into DVD." She grabbed the remote.

"I like the way you think."

I'm happy that I didn't lose my best friend.
