Kade

After

KADE COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. She was gone. She had been there just a moment before, right beneath him. And suddenly, she had disappeared into thin air.

Kade closed his eyes, remembering her. He thought about her warm brown skin, her jade eyes, her dark brown hair... She was simply beautiful. And her white wolf was breathtaking.

Thinking about her made him calm down a little.

He opened his eyes, and Kade noticed a small woman standing in front of him. He had been so focused on his mate that he hadn't seen her before. She was small, with almost black hair. Her eyes were gray, and her skin was the same color as his mate's. She must have been her mother.

He sniffed the air, and caught the woman's scent. She was not a human, but she was not a werewolf either. She's a witch. Kade's wolf, Emmett, said. She must've made our mate disappear. Kade growled.

Surprisingly, the woman didn't flinch. She didn't look affected at all, which was weird, because being the alpha he is, he irradiated power and danger, and normally other beings were intimidated by him.

The woman bowed her head slightly, as if acknowledging him. "Alpha Kade." She said.

He was confused by the whole situation. How could this woman talk to him like if he was just a normal wolf? He took a step closer look at her. He noticed her powerful aura. She was not just a normal witch, he observed. She was a powerful one, probably of Mabon Coven, the most powerful of the whole territory.

He shifted back into his human form. "Witch." He said. "What's your name?"

"Rae." It sounded vaguely familiar, as if he had heard it before, but he didn't know when or where.

"What coven are you from?" She didn't answer, which made him angry. "Was that girl your daughter?" She nodded her head slightly, still staring at him. "Did you make her disappear?"

"No." She answered. Her heartbeat was slow and peaceful, which meant she wasn't lying. "I did not made her disappear."

"What's her name?" Kade asked. Rae, once again, didn't answer. Kade heard her heartbeat quickening. She's getting nervous. Emmett stated. She wants to hide our mate. Kade took a step closer to her. "What's her name?" He repeated lowly.

"Her name, Alpha Kade, is non of your business." She spat.

He growled. "Non of my business." He repeated, not quite believing a witch would answer him that way. He was an alpha, and she owed him respect. He took another step closer. "It is non of my business?" He looked straight into the woman's gray eyes. She didn't back down. "It is all of my fucking business, witch. You are on my territory, and she is my mate."

Rae looked shocked. "No." She whispered, looking away. "No, there must be a mistake." Her words made Kade angry. He acted without thinking, his wolf taking over. In a matter of seconds, he had grabbed the woman by the neck and had pushed her back until her her body was pressed against one of the walls of the house.

"What did you just say?" His voice was low.

She looked straight into his eyes, but it seemed like she was somewhere else. She was still in shock. "How could the Moon pair her with a monster like you?" She was clearly disgusted. He tightened his grip against her neck. "All that you've done... You're a monster."

His wolf had the urge to crush her neck, to rip her apart, but Kade stopped him. She was their only chance to find their mate. "Stop it. Or I'll kill you." He warned Rae. "Now, where is she?"

But she wasn't paying him any attention. She kept on talking. "I didn't ran away so someone like you would find her, least of all mate her." She started shaking slightly. "You cannot take her. She will not be your mate. And even if you do take, he will find her, and he will take her away too, and he will kill me for treason. Nobody can take Isla away from me. Nobody can find out."

Isla. She had said Isla. That was his mate's name, he knew it deep inside him. Isla. His wolf purred. What a beautiful name. The perfect name for a Luna. Kade smiled slightly, agreeing with his wolf. "Isla." He whispered, liking how the name felt in his mouth.

Rae tensed in his hands. His words had suddenly brought her out of her trance, and in her eyes Kade could see that she hadn't intended to give him all that information. She had shared too much. Rae went pale, and he could feel how anger invaded her. "You will never find her." She told him, challenging him.

"Over

my

dead

body."

And just like her daughter before her, she disappeared into thin air.

He growled in frustration. No one ever dared to challenge him, because they all knew what he was capable of. What he wanted, he got, and what he proposed himself to do, he did. "Challenge accepted, bitch." He spat. "Over your dead fucking body."
