Those three hours passed quickly and I had just finished Grace’s makeup when Michael rang the doorbell. Grace stood up quickly, tripped over herself, and stood up all before opening the front door of the house. “Grace, you look like an angel or something” Michael says taking a look at her. “Thanks and you look like a handsome devil” she said cleverly. Angel and devil how cute. He thanked her and led her out to his car. I watched them like a creeper from the window until they left. I felt kind of awkward being in Grace’s house without Grace so I decided to leave. I got in my truck and pulled out my phone. ‘Hey Ash is how was the meeting?’ I text Ashton before making my way back to my house. Andrew had done a pretty good job cleaning my room. Where even was my family. I swear I never see them. I watch television for an hour, but it wasn’t very entertaining. I decide to check the kitchen one more time to see if food had magically appeared while I was at Grace’s. It hadn’t. One new message from Ashton ‘It went well. We went over a lot of stuff. I’d love to tell you all about it. Want to hang later tonight?’ I smiled at the text before shooting him a reply. ‘I’d love to. When and where?’ I text back before grabbing the shopping list and heading over to the grocery store. We had a lot of groceries to get and by the time I bought everything, got myself some taco bell for dinner, and brushed my teeth it was about eight thirty. Ashton had told me to meet him at his house at nine so I decided to chill in my room for a couple of minutes. I took my hair out of the braid and brushed it out. It had a little bit of wave to it. I applied some makeup to my face then decided that I should be on my way to Ashton’s.
I parked my truck and there he was sitting on his porch again. “Hey Ashy” I say skipping over to him. He looks up and smiles a small smile at me. “Everything alright?” I ask sitting next to him on the steps. “Yeah it’s all cool.” He replies. “So about the meeting” I start. “Adam wants us to go to London to work on some songwriting.” He blurts out. “Oh that’s great! For how long?” I ask. “About four months. He wants us to write and play a little. He also wants us to make connections with some big names in the industry.” He explained taking my hand. My heart sank. Four months! “That’s great” I say a little less enthusiastically. “Okay you and I know that it really isn’t the best thing for us now because we are still trying to figure out what this is between us.” He says practically reading my mind. I nod knowing that if I tried to talk then I might say something I would regret. He kissed my forehead and I leaned my head against his shoulder. “When are you leaving?” I ask shakily. “We have about two weeks. The rest of the guys are dropping out, but I’m going to homeschool seeing that I’m almost graduated.” He says. “I don’t want to stay here without you guys” I say as the tears well up in my eyes. “I know. I wish there was some way to smuggle you to London with us, but you know we can’t do that.” He says trying to cheer me up a bit. “Luke wanted to be the one to tell you, but I wanted it to be me” he explains. “So if Luke comes around here telling you the bad news can you just act like I didn’t get to you first” he says. I laugh a little and he laughs a little with me. I reach up and kiss his cheek before resting my head on his shoulder again. My phone buzzes and I look down at it. One new message from Luke ‘hey there is something I need to tell you.’ Ashton reads the message over my shoulder and laughs a little. He has the cutest laugh. ‘Okay how about we talk tomorrow’ I text back. ‘Okay’ is all I get as a response. “Well considering we only have two weeks do you want to do something, like bake cookies” Ashton suggests. “Yeah sure” I say laughing at his randomness. He helps me up and we make our way to his kitchen.
