*Wednesday's afternoon*
Tom's POV:
'Thanks for today,' Indie smiled at me. She was beautiful. Everything about her I liked; her personality, her looks and her sense of humour was great. I would say something to her but I don't want to ruin our friendship.
'Any time,' I smiled back at her. We'd just arrived home after another day of shopping in town. We'd spent most of our time in B&Q, choosing a colour for Indie's room but I didn't mind. The more time I spend with her, the more I like her. I got us both a drink and we went and sat outside in the garden. We had to sit on a picnic blanket on the grass as I've got no garden furniture yet but it added to the fun. We spent a few hours talking about Indie's old home in London and how she was starting a new school at the start of the year.
- Buzz, buzz - Indie's phone lit up on the picnic blanket. It was Owen. Indie picked her phone up and started reading the message, her smile soon turned into a frown.
'What's up?' I took a swig of water from my glass.
'Owen's just told me he's going home this weekend and he wants me to go with him,' Indie finished reading the text then looked up at me, her eyes glistening in the sun.
'Why don't you want to go?' Surely she'd be happy going home to see her dad after almost a week of not seeing him.
'I want to go, don't get me wrong, it's just I like it here,' She smiled at the floor as if she was hiding something.
'What happens if you don't go?' It would be nice spending the weekend with Indie without her brother being on her back all the time but I didn't want to seem too eager and pressure her into not going.
'I don't know? My dad would probably understand if I said I was making new friends or something along those lines,' Indie giggled. She was certainly good at thinking things up on the spot. Indie's phone lit up again. 'Owen said that Maddy's going with him so I'm just going to say that I'll go next weekend so they can spend the weekend together,' Indie's fingers starting tapping away at the screen. The frown that took over her face just moments ago had now been replaced with a smile.
Indie's POV:
'So what are you going to do at the weekend now Owen is leaving?' Tom asked.
'Sort my room out I guess,' I had nothing else planned so I may as well. It needed painting and the furniture that I had ordered over the past few days would need building.
'If you need any help, just ask,' Tom looked at me and smiled. My heart skipped a beat. I was going to ask him for some help but I didn't want to come across as eager and obsessed with him, I mean, I had spent literally every day with him since I'd arrived here. I didn't want him fussing over me when he's got his own house to decorate.
'That would be great, thanks,' I could feel myself blushing so I told Tom that I was going to the toilet. It's funny how I've only known Tom for like a week and I already knew my way around his house; I'd spent more time here than at my own house.
I fixed my hair in the mirror and made sure my make up was okay before I returned to the garden. Tom was stood near the patio doors on his phone. I didn't want to interrupt him so I returned to the picnic blanket and checked my twitter. I scrolled down my timeline but none of the tweets were actually making sense, Tom's voice was too loud for me to concentrate.
'Yeah, that will be great. Thanks mate, see you tomorrow,' I looked up at Tom to see him walking towards me with a huge grin on his face. He looked happy with himself.
I couldn't help but laugh at him. 'Are you okay? You're borderline creepy with that smile,' I managed to get my words out in between laughing.
'Oy! I'm fine, I've just got a surprise,' Tom's look turned from creepy to suspicious.
'Care to elaborate on that Mr Daley?' I tilted my head with confusion. What was he talking about? A surprise? Tom just shook his head in response.
We spent the rest of the afternoon and the early evening in Tom's garden, eating the minimal amount of food we could find in the cupboards and talking about the three people that were moving in with Tom; Sarah Barrow, Dan Goodfellow and Jack Laugher. They are also divers for Team GB and are moving in with Tom next Monday. We also spoke more about his Dad and how much he misses him being around.
I checked the time on my phone - 7:30. I better get home, Owen still thinks I'm at the library and that closed over an hour ago but I didn't want to leave Tom. I loved his company.
'I think it's about time I went,' I picked my phone up off the picnic blanket. 'Owen still thinks I'm at the library,' I chuckled at the thought of me sat in the library.
'Oh, okay,' A hint of disappointment was clear in Tom's voice. I grabbed my bag and made my way to the back gate of Tom's house; he followed behind me. We stopped at the gate to say goodbye to each other. Tom lent again the wall of his house.
'Thanks again for today,' I couldn't help but smile. He looked so perfect.
'Any time,' I looked up at Tom to see his body getting further and further towards me. His hand moved towards my shoulder. 'Sorry, you've got a fly on your shoulder,' Tom started to laugh and I just copied. Did I really think he was trying to kiss me? How humiliating. We continued saying goodbye to each other for another 10 minutes before I made my way towards the alley way opposite Tom's house so it looked like I'd got the bus back from the library. I ran across the road so neither Owen or Maddy could see me as I knew they were home. I stopped in the alleyway to put in my earphones before I started to walk towards my house. I looked over at Tom's house to see him stood in the same position as before. He pulled tongues at me so I did the same bag. I loved the banter I could have with him, it was flirty but not over the top. I waved at him and he waved back before I arrived at my house. I opened the front door to be greeted by Lola.
'I'm back from the library!' I shouted. Owen and Maddy must have been upstairs as there was no one downstairs. I hated lying to my brother but I quite enjoyed sneaking around and keeping Tom my little secret.
A/N - Sorry that this is quite a small chapter but I needed to add a bit more mystery and fun into the story.
I'll try and do another chapter tomorrow as I'm busy on Monday so there won't be an update then.
Sorry for any mistakes. Please tweet me any feedback then I know what I can improve.
