Here it is. Chapter two of My Last Summer.

----------------------------------------------------------

"Good morning beautiful." mum walked in and opened my curtains to reveal the sunshine, which shone through my window and warmed my cold arms up. "Here is your breakfast and painkillers." she handed me the tray.

"Thank you. Mmmmm this smells good." I said looking down at the toast and raspberry jam. "but they do not." I pointed at the boxes of pills and quickly glanced over at my alarm clock: 9.45am.

"I know, I know darling, but remember, a Secret C free summer.." she said coming over and stroking my hair. "So What's on the card for the start of your perfect summer today? Maybe a trip to the beach, or maybe we could have a picnic in the park... " she started rambling.

"Muuuuum." I said waving my hand in her face, whilst taking a crunch out of the perfectly toasted bread. "Today, I am going to watch the sunset on the end of the pier with Ruben, Rosie and Tilly." I informed her proudly.

"Oh. Sounds perfect, take your camera. You can get some beautiful snaps of you and the gang. When are they coming over?"

"Eleven. And before you ask we are taking the train. It's 10 minutes from St Peters to Aggie. I am sure I can cope."

Mum looked at me horrified. I hadn't taken a train since I was diagnosed. But it was on the summer list.

"But Florence, the germs and all the people." she sighed "Please let me drive you all. I can drop you off and then pick you up."

"No mummy. I want to do this. Please. It's on my list and I will be perfectly safe" I argued in a shy little voice.

Sighing my mum left the room for me to get dressed. I decided to wear a strapless knee length red flowery dress, and a small black cardigan on top. After I stopped the chemotherapy my hair started to grow back a dark blonde, it was just hitting my ears and I clipped it back with a red flower clip and put on my black flip flops. I brushed my teeth and put a little bit of Mascara on. I grabbed my bag with medication in and placed it into my large black shoulder bag along with a large fleecy hoody and some leggings. Checked for my purse, camera, phone and a bottle if water before making my way down stairs to wait for my friends.

"Oh Flo, you look lovely." mum told me as I walked down the stairs. "no jewellery today?"

"Oh, no. I forgot." I said turning around and walking up to get my pandora bracelet, tiffany necklace and new silver earrings. I turned around a bit to quickly and suddenly felt ill, a little nauseous and dizzy. "Best not tell mum, she will over react." I told myself walking back down the stairs. I checked my phone for the time: 10.55.

"Mum the gang should be here in a minute, I am going to wait on the porch."

"Okay, call if you need me and I will come and pick you up, and take your medication, and take your phone, and if you feel sick ring me, and here is your jumper." she came in and handed me my old jumper. kissing her on the cheek I said
