When love's not playing out like the movies it doesn't mean it's falling apart.

"Niall, seriously! I've gotta go!" I smiled against his kiss as he held me in the doorway.

"Mmm, no you don't."

"Niall I gotta go write my applications to colleges and get coffee."

"I have coffee here. Abilene it's late and it's dark and it's snowing, don't go." His hand traveled down my body closer to the waistband of my sweatpants.

"As much as I'd like that to happen, I've got to go." I pulled away and he grabbed my hand.

"Won't you stay til the A.M.?" I laughed and pecked him goodbye.

"Bye, Niall." I waved and walked to my car. Niall watched me leave from the porch of his house.

"Be safe!" he shouted and waved.

So much has happened today. It was 10:07 and I needed to get home. The radio was faintly on, but I could still hear it. "Niall Horan spotted out with a mystery girl! He hasn't had one in 5 years!" I turned the radio volume higher.

Had the paparazzi finally caught up to us?

The girl continued. "Listen to this, he bought her a house in Potomac! Just for her. He must really want to take the next step with her."

This lady is pissing me off. I reached to turn it off but took my hand back. What else had they discovered?

This time, a man was talking. "And I heard that fellow band mate Harry Styles has even met her! This girl lives in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area. They've been taking so many flights to here. This girl has done something to them."

I've done something? What the hell is wrong with them?

"And guess what? A source told us that she is taking his money. She's a gold digger. Call us with your thoughts at 37281038."

That's it. I picked up my phone and put in their number. Before I could press call, I my car slid on the snow that was coming down and my car swerved into the other lane.

I heard honking but it was too late.

My mother always told me to keep my eyes on the road.

NIALL

I called Abilene to make sure that she got home safely. She didn't answer, which was weird. Abilene always answers.

It's 11:30, she's supposed to be home now. It's not supposed to take that long to get home.
I texted her but there was no answer. I texted her mom but I didn't expect her to answer.

She still hadn't answered my text from over 1 hour ago. This is bull I'm going over. I got into my car and drove to her house. Maybe she went to go get coffee?

I pulled up to see her parents rushing to get in the car. I pulled up to the curb and got out, running in the snow.

"Salma! Wait!" Abilene's mom stopped and looked at me. She had been crying. She walked towards me and held my face in her hands.

"Oh, Niall."

"Has something happened? Please tell me what's going on." Salma looked at her husband.

"Please! Is Abilene okay? Where is she?" I pleaded with her, looking at both Abilene's mom and dad. Her dad walked over and put a hand on my shoulder.

"Salma, I'm going in the car." He said before getting into the car. Salma now had snow covering all of her hair. The snow was picking up.

"Salma please." I looked her in the eye. "Has something happened to Abilene?"

She sighed. "When Abilene was driving, her car skidded."

"No," I put my hand over my mouth.

"She was in a crash with a van. She's in the hospital now." My hands were tugging at the roots of my hair.

"What hospital?"

"Niall--"

"I'm not going to let Abilene think that I don't care about her. I'm never going to let her down again. What hospital?" She sighed in defeat.

"Follow us."
