*3 hours later*
Finally, time to pack up. I'd locked all the cupboards, with the help of Rob which didnt take too long to do. My first managing night shift was nearly over, and i'd never been so releaved in my life. I fantasised about Rob locking me up in one of the cupboards and that I was stuck here all night by myself... Man I must be tired! After counting up all the money, and going behind shop to grab my stuff it hit me that I had to walk home.
Rob popped his head in and said "I'm off!". It was five minutes early but I couldn't be arsed to argue with him. I turned round to him, to realise he was staring at my bum whilst I was crouching down to change into my comfy shoes.
"Um... Bye Rob." I emphasised as he left. What a creep.
Man... I just wanted to be home. So, after checking everything was locked in the back room, I put on my coat and scarf and headed for the door. Until suddenly I heard a loud bang coming from the front of the shop...
"Hello....? Rob is that you?" my heart started pounding against my chest, I felt my palms sweating... God please let it be Rob......
"Sorry...Earphones..." he pointed, bustling in, rushing towards the table where lay his lonely earphones. THANK YOU GOD.
"No worries, god you scared me then! Don't sneak like that next time, almost gave me a heart attack!" I breathed a sigh of relief as I replied to Rob who was out of breath himself.
"Bye." he said, before turning on his heel and charging his way to the entrance door and out into the bleak, cold winters night.
After putting my coat on, I put in one earphone, leaving my other ear bare for safety, placed my phone in my pocket and I was ready to embark on my journey home in the dark, alone, with no one to accompany me.
The streetlights were on, everything was going to be fine. I pushed the button at the front of the shop to initiate the alarm, closing the door behind me and locking up the shop with my keys. The streets were completely hostile, and empty. There was no one around, and all you could see were the dim street lights illuminating the path in front of me. It was so cold out, you could see your breath steaming in front every time you began a breath. And, just my luck, it began to spit with rain which left me so chilly I began to shiver. I hugged myself tighter, as Ben Howard was being shuffled in my right ear. I got to the end of the street, and tried to remember where my Aunt Rosa said to....I didn't even manage to ask. Great, im lost. This was going to be much harder than I thought! Every street looked the exact same to me, this situation was definitely not ideal. I crossed the road, and saw a sign saying "Rose Gardens Elderley Home" and remembered what the gorgeous customer said earlier, his voice replaying in my head that he was visiting his great aunt, and I knew that was the same direction as Summer's flat, so I must be heading the right direction. I continued to plod along in the rain, listening to my ipod and shivering like mad down the alley ways in what looked like a council town.
I was walking for a good fifteen minutes now, I had to be getting a little bit closer to Summer's place. I approached another alleyway, listing the name "Orchard Street". It rang a bell, I'm sure I passed it on my way here. When taking a sharp turn down Orchard Street, it came to my enlightenment that I was being followed... It might just be in my head, but I can hear footsteps a little distant behind me. I turned around quickly, stumbling on my own feet to see no one around. I definitely was imagining it. I carried on walking, getting to the end of Orchard Street where my only option was to take a little sidewalk. The good news was I could see light right on the other side, it was only an approximate five second walk down there. I got mid way down the sidewalk, when I suddenly felt someone in close proximaty behind me feeling their warm breath on the back of my neck. The hairs on my back prickled, and I felt myself go light headed, adrenaline pumping around my body. I turned round, immediately kicked the black shadowed figure and began to run as fast as my little legs could take me. I was running so fast, my ear phones were dangling down my body, keys and phone rattling in my pockets and the ice cold spit rain across my face as I sprinted down several roads in front of me. I was beginning to lose my breathe, so slowed down and stepped to the side outside a house to catch my breath. He had gone, and I was alone once more. I began banging on the house in front of me to borrow a phone to ring someone, but it was no use. The houses were dark inside, probably empty.
I continued to walk past the row of houses, and was greeted with a country road. I had definitely taken a wrong turn somewhere. I was tired, hungry, scared and freezing cold. Being lost had to be the worst it could have got. Until I turned back round to walk towards the houses there I saw the same black hooded figure with in 3 steps away from me. I began to tremble, and stopped breathing. I didnt know what to do, apart from run.
"What do you want from me?!" I bellowed across the country path. I realised this wasnt the smartest move, as he began to stride towards me. My feet didnt care to move, they just stuck there in fear, my whole body was paralysed. The hooded figure approached me, and suddenly grabbed me by my hair, kneed me fiercely in the stomach, and I fell to the floor clutching my body in agony. My heart was pounding so fast, you could hear it beating in every part of my body.
I began to sob, shouting 'HELP, PLEASE SOMEBODY HEL.." until I felt a cold wet hand pelt across my mouth, forcing me to be quiet.
"Please, I haven't got any money, just take my ipod, take anything"
I muttered against the hand which was planted across my mouth. I realised he wouldnt have been able to hear me, and I knew it was time to fight back. I tried to bite his hand, pushing myself up from the ground and kicking and fisting the air, but it was no good. This man, was far too strong for me, I was helpless and I knew that nothing, or no one could save me now.
"I dont want your money." he exclaimed in a muffled, bass tone into my ear, my back feeling a wave of heat and prickles in fear. Thats when I realised what this man's intention was, and I'd never been so terrified in my whole entire life.
