Forever // Kwon Yuri //

Chapter 1

The darkness has enlightened by the lightness. The darkness starts to fade as the source of lightness appeared.

The surroundings are all seem like welcoming the morning sun. The reddish white clouds that spread out on the sky, birds that start to fly toward who knows where and a peacefully sound of the waves.

I close my eyes as the morning air warmly flutters my face. I love this feeling, freedom. After letting go of things, i feel like a lot weight has pulled off from my shoulder. The pain that i used to have seems to lessen. Which is really great for me. I finally can start to put myself together again, although i know i'm not fully recovered. I still need more time to heal.

As the sun rise higher, i stand up from the sand and walk back home slowly. I still can hear the sound of waves and chirping birds.

Luckily, there aren't so many cars on the street so i can enjoy the scenery around me with the sounds of nature.

"Yuri! Yah Kwon Yuri!!"

All of a sudden, the beautiful sounds got replaced by a loud squeal that startled me. I quickly turn around to find my best friend, Minho grinning dorkily at me.

"Ya! What are ya doing here?" I say, slightly annoyed.

"What? It's not that you own this place. I can do whatever i want to do here." He starts to walk away. I roll my eyes and follow him.

"That doesn't answer my question."

He suddenly stops that make me almost bump into him. I was about to yell at him but change my mind after see him smirk mischievously. I frown, wondering what the heck is in his mind now.

"I just thought that maybe you are missing me, so i try to help you with that by meeting you."

What the hell?! I glare at him to express my HUGE disagreement with his statement. But his respond really isn't what i intended to see. Instead of backing off, he laugh out loud to the state that i am too embarrassed to be near him so i pretend to make him like a stranger as i continue my walk.

Still with his laughs, i hear his footsteps are getting closer as he speaks, "I can't believe that you seem so serious before. After all these years, you still can't resist my cheesiness,eh?"

Oh gosh, i really wanna throw up right now, he really is something in the morning. Maybe he isn't fully awake yet.

Seeing that i'm ignoring him, he suddenly stands in front of me, blocking my way. "Hey, i'm serious right now. I woke up this early to give you a company. You know that i'm a sleepy head like you right, it's really hard to be up this early."

"YA CHOI MINHO! I am NOT a sleepy head okay." I whined.

"You used to be one, though." He sighs as his face seems saddened. But that only last for seconds, he quickly turns to be the dork Minho again.

He grabs my arm and pulls me as we run together towards my house. At first, i pouted but seeing him laughing freely just make me reminisce those days when we were still in high school, running home happily. I laugh along with him as i pray to always have him beside me, as my best friend.

The warm feeling of the smell of coffee greet me when i walk in to the coffee shop. I spotted someone waving at me briefly as i walk closer toward the table and give her a quick hug.

"Oh my god, i miss you so much, Yoong!" I said as i sit down opposite her.

The woman who is non other than my best friend, Im Yoona, grinning wildly at me before uttered, "Me too! We haven't seen each other for weeks."

"Yeah, all thanks to your busy work that makes you have to go overseas." I said sarcastically and continue with my pouting mouth, "Leaving your bestie here alone."

She chuckled lightly as she speaks, "Arraseo, i won't be leaving again soon. But don't you have Minho by yourside already? You are not alone, Yuri ah."

Hearing that name makes me groan annoyingly, suddenly remembered that dork disrupted my nap yesterday, instructing me to helped him with his work. I'm not his assistant or anything, and it's really is such a pity for me to helped him on my day off. But i did it anyway, since his work is somehow including one of my hobbies.

I startled when i see a hand waving right in front of my face. "Yah, what are ya doin'?"

I see Yoona sits back on the chair as she folds her arms in her chest. "That's supposed to be my question to you. Why are you spacing out when i'm talking to you?"

She glares at me, but seconds later, she smirks as she says, "Wait, are you thinking about Minho?"

I blush slightly cause i really thought about him but it's not the kind of 'thought' that Yoona might think of. So i tried to explain to her about how annoyed i am to be with him almost everyday and have to endure his non sense and cheesiness.

But the more i talk, the more i feel like it's unnecessary, cause seeing Yoona's grinning, i think she is already in her imaginary world thinking that i enjoy every second i spend with Minho. She always tries to set me up with Minho, saying that we are good together and whatever. Arghh, i think i need to change the topic quickly to prevent her lips to sweep away for grinning too much.

Yoona can't stop smiling as she watches her best friend talking with such energy overflowing her. It has been a while to see Yuri, and she really is doing good now. Before Yoona left to Japan a few weeks ago, she was really worried that her best friend is going to break down again, but thankfully that didn't happen, since Minho is taking good care of her.

Yoona's mind brings her back to 2 years ago, when 'he' left Yuri callously. Yuri seemed to change into someone that she can't recognize anymore. The cheerful dorky Yuri turned to be a cold hearted Yuri. The cold Yuri that built a wall to everyone, separating herself with people that sincerely love her.

Yoona knew, Yuri acting like that to protect herself, to be strong enough to face her life. But Yoona also knew that Yuri's fragile heart can't hold Yuri alone, she needs someone to comfort her and to be by her side. So Yoona never leaves Yuri alone, she always took good care of her best friend, always lent her shoulder for her to cried on, to stayed up all night beside her who can't sleep.

If there's one thing that Yoona would like to accomplish, that would be having her strong, dorky and crazy best friend back. She would wanted Yuri to be herself again, even though that means she has to given up someone for her.

And in that case, it's Minho.

Yoona has a long term crush on Minho, but she knows that man only has eyes on Yuri. So, she decided to just let go to see her best friend slash sister happy again, cause she wants to pay back those good things that Yuri has done to protect her. Now it's her turn, to protect her best friend.

Right now, Yoona is still smiling widely at her. Even though she knows Yuri isn't fully return to herself, cause she sometimes still have those coldness in her, but she can senses that Yuri is happy. Which means her choice is right, and that satisfied her a lot.
