Amber's P.O.V

I was frozen as I looked at Ryder with wide eyes. He loved me? No, he couldn't. He rejected me. He didn't care for me. He couldn't. . . could he?

"No you don't." I whispered. "You're just playing a joke on me. Don't you get it Ryder?! You won! You won years ago when you rejected me and I ran away! I was too stupid and weak to stay. You had broken me. Congratulations. But, why do you have to keep breaking me?! Don't you understand that I am broken now?! You rejected me! Do you know how many times I wished death would take me?! So, STOP playing with my emotions, I cannot take it anymore!"

He looked at me with sad eyes.

"I'm so sorry that I hurt you so much, Angel. I didn't mean to. I was only thinking about myself when I re...when I hurt you. I will fight for your forgiveness."

"I'm leaving." I said as I decided to just give up on this useless conversation.

"No! I can't let you go and..." he searched for another way to make me stay.

I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, bye!" I said cheerfully as I stood up.

"My mom! You wouldn't want to leave without saying bye to my mom, would you?!" (A/N Those of you who forgot, the Luna, Ryder's mom, was the only one who was nice to Amber. Amber was like her own daughter... back to the story)

I hesitated. I have missed the Luna greatly and always regretted not saying a real goodbye to her. She'd be devastated if she found out I had 'visited' and had been to see her.

I sighed. Just for Adaline. (A/N I don't think I gave a name to Ryder's mom so, if I did her name is going to be changed to Adaline. Thanks, sorry for the interruptions of A/N's!!)

"Fine!" I growled in frustration. "But only for your mother, not for my family, your pack, or you. Just for Adaline." I snarled at him, as he had started to grin.

His grin instantly fell, and he looked both pained and hurt. I looked away before I could get sucked into those eyes and apologize.

"I'll take you to her." A voice I dreaded had said coming from the doorway.

I froze and stared at Kyle. He looked a little more worn out the last time I had seen him. He looked tired and a little sad.

"Beta Kyle." I said coldly.

He flinched at the name.

"I thought my name was Ky-Ky?" He chuckled quietly.

"That was a name given by a girl who loved her brother."

Kyle stared at the floor, frozen. He looked as if he was heartbroken. I almost aplogized... almost.

I sighed.

"Are you going to lead me to her or what?" I asked.

He nodded and silently led me to her.

Ryder followed and tried to go close to me, but I just went farther to the wall. He sighed but stopped trying to get contact.

We went to the Lunas office and I was kinda nervous. I still had a deep ache in my heart from when my parents basically abandoned me, so Luna was always there for me. She found out she couldn't have any more children, and I was always a child who kept to myself. She took me under her wing, even though she didn't know how I was treated at home. She just thought I needed some compassion. I was like another daughter to her.

I opened the door and the boys followed me. She was doing paperwork and didn't even look up before answering.

"How many times have I said to knock the door first, Ryder? For all you know, I could be changing and then you'd be traumatized forever

"How many times have I said to knock the door first, Ryder? For all you know, I could be changing and then you'd be traumatized forever."

"Why would you change in your office, mom?" Ryder asked, amused.

"You don't know everything about me, Ryder." She answered, looking up and grinning.

Her smile fell when she noticed me. She blinked. Once. Twice. Then she jumped up.

"Amber?" She said hesitantly.

I smiled sadly.

"The one and only."

She leaped at me and crushed me in a hug. I laughed and hugged her back.

"You left for so long." She whispered.

She took a step back and looked at me.

She nodded in approval and said, "You look great sweetheart."

I grinned crookedly.

That's when my sister burst through the door.
