Amber's P.O.V
"Kyle! Someone said that Amber was back?! What's going on?! Did you finally find her! Did you see her?!" My sister asked, breathless.
Kyle stared at her than glanced at me. Violet followed his gaze and her eyes landed on me. Her eyes widened, her mouth dropped, and she gasped.
Then, suddenly, she snapped out of her trance and tackled me. Literally, I was kissing the floor.
"Amber! I've missed you so much! I'm so sorry!" She started to cry.
I awkwardly pat her back. She was like a stranger to me. All I really could remember was she was girly and loved grapes. She had never made an effort, and I'm sure she's changed. I knew her when she was a cheerleader, and wanted to be a nurse. But, that was three years ago, she has probably changed.
She jumped off and Adaline helped me off the floor.
"Violet." I nodded stiffly.
She looked at me with sad eyes, then looked away and stared out the windows instead.
"Not that I'm not glad that you're here, but what are you doing here?" Adaline asked.
"I'm with some friends." I said carefully. No matter how much I trusted Adaline, I had to keep our group a secret.
"Um, I actually need to go back to them. Can I call you Adaline? Maybe we can meet up."
Before Adaline could answer, a growl broke through the air.
"You're not going ANYWHERE." Ryder said sternly.
"The only thing keep me here is Adaline. And she and I are definitely going to keep in touch." I said coldly.
Ryder flinched a little but recovered quickly.
"I'm here. You're marked. You're staying." He commanded.
I laughed mockingly as his Alpha Command didn't work on me.
"Since I've got the unlucky job of being your mate, that does mean I'm the same status. You can't keep me here."
I turned to walk away when he started talking again.
"You move out that door, and your friends will be killed."
I stiffened. Would he? I turned around and look at him. I saw in his eyes, he was telling the truth.
He wavered at the look of contempt and betrayl in my eyes, but didn't relax.
"I hate you." I spat.
He flinched and my wolf whimpered at the look of pain on his face.
Adaline quickly came over and hugged me, trying to calm me down.
"Here," she whispered as she slipped a phone in my pocket, "Escape, and so help me, you better call me... and bye then I'll have thought of a punishment."
