Chapter 4-The Supervisor
Katerina Kolosov's POV
"I'll see you for dinner later on alright?" I called out and Lexi nodded as she slipped on her ballet flats. "Yeah! You can tell me all about your first day at work." Lexi answered and I nodded before yelling a goodbye and quickly left the dormitory to drive back to my home.
Upon reaching, I keyed in the key code for my before pushing my hair back behind my ears and quickly entered my bedroom. Today was Thursday and I was to head to my dad's office to work there to gain some experience before working there full time when I graduated from college.
Dumping my bag on my bed, I quickly slipped on a black dress with a blazer and my favourite black heels before straightening my hair and then pinning the locks of my hair behind my head.
Finally satisfied with my appearance, I walked down the stairs to see Sebastian grumbling under his breath while Charlie looked on smugly.
A familiar brunette caught my eyes and I entered the kitchen to see my Uncle Grayson and his wife Aunt Claire conversing with my parents. Well, it was mostly mom and Aunt Claire talking while my dad and my uncle listened. Uncle Grayson had met Aunt Claire when I was about six years old and they were married the very same year they met.
"Kat! Oh wow! You look amazing!" Aunt Claire greeted before complimenting with a smile on her face as she caught sight of me. Her blue eyes were sparkling as she beamed at me.
"Hi Aunt Claire, Uncle Grayson." I greeted and she gave me a big hug. "It's the big day, isn't it? Working!" Mom beamed proudly at me and nodded at what my aunt had exclaimed.
Aunt Claire sighed wistfully, "You're growing up so fast." She sighed wistfully and I pursed my lips awkwardly. "Yeah," I stated and reached for a cereal bar on the counter.
"Kitty Kat, let's go," Dad called out as he dangled his car keys in front of my face. I nodded and kissed my mother's cheek before I waved a goodbye to my uncle Grayson and Aunt Claire before joining dad in the car.
"So how is college so far?" Dad questioned and I shrugged. "It was okay I guess. Not that much of a big deal."
Dad scrutinised me and I met his gaze back evenly. His dark blonde hair had some gray strands and some wrinkles formed around his eyes. He let out a sigh and the sunlight entering the car made his gold earring glint and I couldn't help but stifle a laugh at the sight of it.
Suddenly he let out a heavy sigh before taking a quick glance at me and my eyes widened to see that his eyes were a little glassy.
"Dad, are you...crying?" I asked disbelievingly.
My father scowled at me as he narrowed his eyes, "Fuck no! It's just-you're not that little troublemaker anymore when you were younger and you're now working with me. You're more mature and your cheeky mischievous attitude is gone. Give your old man some time to see that you're growing up alright?"
A smile crept onto my face at that and I nodded. "And don't you bloody dare tell your mother, she wouldn't take me seriously ever if you do."
I snorted and pushed a stray lock away from my face. It wasn't often when my dad would go all soft and sentimental. He wasn't really one to speak about feelings except to my mom but I wasn't going to say anything.
"Alright, it's a secret," I reassured him and Dad shrugged before giving me a cheeky grin. "It better be. Anyway, I just want to say that it's great that you are going to work together with me. Us Kolosov's against the world." He finished before giving me one of his rare smiles.
