Chapter 3: Volleyball Club

I'm surprisingly a little nervous. I mean, it's my first day of school and I've already understood how energetic Hinata is and how angry the milk drinker can get. He already drank 3 milk things. And I can already see how close those two are from the way they insult eachother and joke around.

We also ran into Ishimaru and I signed him that I was visiting the volleyball club. He nodded and walked away without saying a word which made me a little confused. But oh well.

I look up at the tall building designated as the gym in awe. I've never seen such a big gym, I wonder if it's bigger inside too.

Kageyama and Hinata entered through the rather large doors of the building.

Here we go.

I follow in behind the duo to here the squeaking of shoes and panting people.

"Well look who decided to show up?", I heard an amused voice say and I look around to find Tsukishima. Of course. The smirkisaurus. Who else?

The squeaking stopped and I looked up to find that practically everyone was taller than me. Oh great. GREAAAAAAT.

"You must be Hashira-san, I'm Daichii, the captain of the volleyball team, I heard from Hinata that you wanted to join.", an, also tall, black haired guy said offering his hand for me to shake. I shook his hand and nodded.

"Oh right!", a grey haired, HOW MANY TALL PEOPLE ARE THERE said cherringly,"Daichii, he can't talk, Kageyama said he's got larengitis. I'm Sugawara by the way Hashira."

A look of realization crossed the captains face,"That does explain alot.", he smiled a very fatherly like smile,"I'm sure that you can just show us what your skills are instead of trying to explain them. It'll make it easier for everyone.", I nodded and looked to Kageyama.

"Can you receive quick?", he asked not bothering to sign.

"You can't mean your trying to get him to receive your freak duo quick are you?", Tsukishima stated,"Look at how small he is, he'll probably be knocked back by Hinata's weak hit."

"MY HIT IS NOT WEAK!", Hinata yells at Tsukishima.

And I won't get knocked back.

"I guess it's alright, Daichii?", Sugawara said, asking Daichii for his approval.

"Sure, get into position Hashira, Kageyama, Hinata.", we all nod and I put my book bag on the side and jog onto the court.

Oh man its been awhile. It's been a whole week without playing anything I'm itching to do something that includes a game of any sort.

Kageyama and Hinata get ready on the other side of the net. I grab a ball and head to the back line to serve. I'm covering the whole court myself? A little much don't you think? Oh well, nothing I can't handle. I throw the ball up and serve a normal hard serve and hinata receives it. I run up into position, careful to watch where the ball is going.

I suddenly see Hinata almost flash across the court, FAST! I calm down and look at the positioning of Hinata's hand, there's nobody else for Kageyama to set to so it has to be hinata, and even though I expected a quick I didn't realize it would be minus tempo! I quickly look and see Hinata scanning the court for open spaces, which seem like alot, then he zeros in on my face and I see his hand position change for a straight. He smashes the ball and I quickly adjust my bodyweight to aid me in getting to where the ball is only for the ball to come in contact with my forearms and go to an imaginary setter.

I slide across the ground and off the court from the force of me throwing my body into the balls path.

The ball drops and the whole gym goes silent. Was that too much to show off? I received that freak quick. Ya it's freaky how fast Hinata was moving, but my past team for missions could move almost as fast as him too. So I'm used to it.
