Was he sick of me? Sick by me? Maybe he wasn't a guy that likes that kind of sex. From the issues of Cosmopolitan magazine I'd read, I wouldn't have assumed so - either way it's like he'd been avoiding me since our intense session in my bedroom.

It was midweek afterwards, and not only was he avoiding me, but the only people I could bear contact with in the house was my sister and the occasional passing comment with Antonio, though, he was terrifying every time - it was like he liked seeing me squirm and feel intimidated more than his son.

To get my mind off it I decided that Sophia and I should sun bathe and gossip. Mortified and still intrigued by the information Marco had forced upon me, I decided to gather some of my own.

Sophia was turning 16 in a week, so I had to ask, "Soph, have you ever kissed a boy?"

She lowered her sunglasses and peered at me, "Yes, why do you ask?" she was ten times more composed than I'd ever been about these questions, "I just wondered and who?"

"A boy from school"

"Older or younger?"

"Older."

"Younger than me."

She went silent for a moment and looked around before answering, "No"

This was all news to me, it seemed information about my family was determined to at least attempt to give me a heart attack. "My age?"

She nodded. "Who?"

"I can't kiss and tell Niamh! God, you're so nosy!" As I desperately wracked my brain thinking of what boy, my age in a prestigious private school would dare go near a minor, when her voice broke through my thoughts, "Any way, you're not a virgin. Everyone knows you slept with that senior last year." I went to respond when she, coyly this time, spoke again "Have you slept with Danny?" I frowned at the thought, "No! God no!"

"Why not, I thought you two were the set up of the summer" she rolled her eyes. "Well, we're not, we're not exactly each others 'type'"

"What' do you mean?" she sat up on her lounger this time, "Well, more like I'm not his - in a lot of complex ways."

"Right," she pulled me up, "Spill." I hesitated for a moment, "You can't tell anyone - ever! I can't even comprehend it properly myself."

"Deal, I won't tell a soul, not even mom. Now tell me. Is it from that night of the gala? You guys seemed totally into it, next day you were all standoff-ish"

"It wasn't the gala, it was afterwards. We went to Marco's club and, I discovered I wasn't his type. I too short, too curvy and too female."

Her eyes went wide with shock, "What? Is he, like, gay?"

I nodded slowly, "I think so, now he was kissing a guy, that doesn't necessarily prove he's gay, but it does put up a very good argument for me. That or he's Bi"

I was sure at that moment Sophia hadn't come across a conversation like this, at least not in all seriousness.

"But you can't tell anyone! Okay?"

She nodded looking down at her feet, causing me to wonder "Are you alright with this information?"

She nodded again, I sighed, "Come on, Sophia, tell me what's up."

"I don't know, I just figured, if he didn't like you, he might like me."

It was then my turn to be shocked. "You liked him? Since when?"

"He kissed me, at the gala, we were in a corner and he told me I looked just as beautiful as you did, and he didn't understand why I didn't have anyone to escort me, but Marco, to the Gala."

That bastard! I couldn't believe he'd done that!

"He's twenty-three, How dare he!"

"It's not age that matters, it's the fact he would rather do men than."

I couldn't believe my sister was talking about sex. "Are you a virgin Soph?"

She nodded, "God, yes! I'm not an idiot! 1) I could get pregnant and 2) Could you imagine dad's reaction to finding out I had sex! He'd freak out!"

"Good! Woah, I would've had to kill the guy"

"Yeah, that's what I'm scared of too." I was joking, Sophia wasn't.
