I get out of the car wearing this (outfit above hat is backwards, so brim is on back of the head) for Coach Buzzer's funeral. I follow my Dad on my penny board as he walks over to his old friends. He stops a few feet away from them when I hear someone say something about no cell phones.
"What no cell phones? I'm outta here." Dad says. They all turn around to see dad and I.
"Hey Higgins!" Lenny says. I know who all of them are because dad told me and I'm best friends with Andre and Charlotte Mackenzie. My dad starts to do a weird dance move.
"Who's ready to get their funeral on?" He asks and all of us look at him weird.
"I'm sorry death makes me weird." Dad says.
"No, you're naturally weird." I say. Everyone laughs as I smirk at dad. He rolls his eyes at me and we walk/ride over to them. As dad talks to them I ride over to Charlotte and Andre.
"Hey girl. And Andre." I say. Charlotte smiles and hugs me. Then Andre hugs me. Charlotte starts giggling and I raise an eyebrow at her. She points behind me, I turn around and see one of Lenny's kids staring at me. He quickly looks down and I giggle. He looks around my age, dad did say that their would be another kid beside Andre and I that's 14.
"I'll be right back." I tell Charlie(Charlotte) and Andre. They nod and I ride over to the kid. I tap him on the shoulder and he put away his phone and took off his sunglasses. I keep my sunglasses on though.
"Hey what's up?" He asks.
"What's up is that you were staring at me, I mean I know I'm pretty, but come on!" I joke and he laughs.
"I'm kidding. My names Emma Higgins." I say while holding out my hand and he shook it.
"I'm Greg I'm 14, this is Keithie he's 11 and this is Becky she's 4." He says while pointing to his brother that's on his phone and a adorable little girl. She waves and I wave back.
"Ok, well see ya later Hollywood!" I say and go back over to Charlotte. I see that she's talking to another girl.
"Oh Emma this is Donna, Donna this is Emma." Charlotte introduces us. We say hi and shake hands. We got to know each other a little bit until it was time to go inside for the funeral.
"Dad and I are sitting behind the Feder family. I flick Greg on the ear and he looks around confused. I giggle and he playfully glares at me. I hear Mrs.Feder talk about the lake house we're all staying at for the week. Mr.Feder then said says something about money and my dad bursts into their conversation.
"It's your money, it's his money, it's my money. Let's all put it in a cash pile and split it." He tells Roxanne.
"Ha ha ha. That's a nice hat, it brings out the death in the room. I'm sorry, I'm nervous, it's a funeral and I get weird." He says and sits back in his seat. I snicker as he does this. Mr.Feder gets called up for a speech. After Rob starts to sing 'Ave Maria' to Coach Buzzer's portrait. I looked around as the rest of the Fab Five (Lenny Feder, Eric Lamonsoff, Kurt Mackenzie, Marcus Higgins) start laughing silently. I put my hand over my mouth to contain my laughter. Rob got on one knee and I see Kurt give Lenny $5. Rob finishes and dad and I look at each other with a smirk. I nod and we make a buzzer sound together. Of corse everyone laughs.
"Oh grow up will ya?" Rob says while walking off the stage.
"Sorry but I'm in Neverland!" I say loudly. Of corse with my luck everyone was silent when this happens. Everyone bursts into more laughter as dad gives me a fist bump.
After the funeral I sit on a bench. I am sitting with Kurt, Lenny, Eric, Sally(Mrs.Lamonsoff), Roxanne (Mrs.Feder) and Becky. I am talking to Becky though.
"What's your favorite animal?" She asks in her adorable high voice. I think about it then smile.
"A dog. What's yours?" I ask.
"I like monkeys!" She says, I laugh and Bean comes over saying that he wants milk. Sally pulls down her shirt and starts breast feeding him, Kurt moves away from her. I cover Becky's eyes and look away.
"Your son is so cute. Um, how old is he?" Roxanne asks.
"Oh forty eight months." Eric says. Couldn't he have just said 4 years old?
"That's 4." Kurt voiced out my thoughts.
"Yeah." Eric mutters.
"We meant to stop last year, but he likes it so much and we don't like to say no." Sally tells us.
Donna walks by eating some cake with her hands. Sally asks if she could use a fork, but Donna screamed no a few times and storms away.
"Looks like she didn't get the memo." Kurt says and I snicker.
"I talk to Becky awhile longer until it's time to go. We all leave to go to the lake house.
"Dad Ty's dad is dropping him off at the Lake house." I tell dad.
"I forgot about that. Can you call Lenny and tell him that we have another kid coming next?" He asks. I nod and pull out dads phone. I call Lenny.
"Hello?" Lenny asks.
"Hey Lenny it's Emma. Dads driving so I'm calling for him. We have another kid coming to the lake house. Is that okay?" I ask.
"Yeah it's fine. Just have them stay in the kids room with you all." He says.
"Okay. Bye." I reply.
"Bye." We hang up and I give dad his phone back.
