"That is so not true, Matt!" Hails yelled at him getting flustered.
We started laughing harder. Hails could be so gullible and it was easy to mess with her.
Matt was telling us about the ghost of Missouri. The little girl that died back in the 1800's at the main park. Matt was telling us some of the rumors. One was that she mainly haunts the water park at night and it flipped Hails out because she was a strong believer of the paranormal.
"Matt, the chance of anything like that being real is unlikely. The paranormal isn't real." Marcus said.
"Not true." I replied "Hendrix's middle school and all 3 elementary schools are haunted. I saw a white, glowing mist in the girls locker once. Never have I run faster." I finished with a serious look.
Hails and I both go to Hendrix High in Whitewood. We are in the same grade and have been best friends for 4 years. Always getting in trouble for talking to each and messing with our group of guy friends. We have the same interests in music, aka Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith boys and shows and movies. We pretty much have the same personality and hate the drama that comes with being friends with other girls. But she is the sporty one playing soccer and softball, while I'm better in the arts, dancing and acting since the age of 3.
Telling her my little ghost story sent her over.
"OMG!!!!! Missouri is going follow us home and to haunt us!!!" she shrieked has we arrived at Q-chair.
The other guards and supervisors turned and looked at us.
Mean while Matt, Marcus, Connor and I doubled over in laughter.
I felt it coming before it even slipped out.
My dreadful snort.
Everyone busted out laughing as soon as it escaped.
All except Alex and some girls who just rolled their eyes. But it didnt matter, I still blushed a deep red.
"Okay everyone settle down. Thank you Jenna, for that lovely laugh of yours. It defiantly help break the tension." Keeley said smiling at me.
"No problem, boss lady." I replied saracstically with a sly smirk.
Keeley rolled her eyes, the smile still on her face, before running through a speech to help us newbies relax before the park opened.
***************************
After her fantastical speech, which recieved a loud applause, she gave us our spots and paired those opening a water ride or pool with a returner.
"Jenna Marsh you will be at top Mondo with Dylan , who will help you open." Keels shouted out, which was followed with groans from other guards who and yet to be assigned a spot.
Mondo was the best ride to start at and open. One because no scanning. And two because who ever opens gets to test-ride.
"Thanks Keeley!" I shouted which was also shouted at the same time by a guy a few feet away from me.
I looked over at him and saw him looking at me. I smiled at him and he returned with a dazzling smile of his own.
"Have fun, guys." I said to my friends and went to grab the opening sheet for Mondo from Keeley.
After thanking her again, I turned to find the Dylan guy. I spotted him talking to Derek, the manager of the water park.
I hesitated, unsure of whether to go over or not. Before I could decide, Dylan saw me and waved me over.
As I got there, Dylan let out a laugh, which had a pleasant sound to it.
"Hello, Jenna. How are you feeling about today?" Derek asked.
I smiled, "Good. I'm ready. I've been waiting for this since we finished training and I'm super excited." I replied.
"Glad to know that your ready and I think you'll do just fine." he said before turning back to Dylan.
"I better let you go, Dylan." he hesitated before continuing, "I don't think you'll have to help her much. She had the highest score out of all the new guards."
I blushed immediately and Derek walked away with a smile.
I faced Dylan just as he held his hand out.
"I'm Dylan." somehow managing to make his smile bigger.
"Jenna." I replied coolly, taking his hand.
As soon as our skin touched, I felt a shock. Not an actually shock of electric, but the kind you get when your crush might touch you on accident and you feel that jolt run through your body.
I glanced at Dylan to see if he felt it as well, but if he did he didn't let on.
"Ready to go open Mondo?" he asked.
"Hell yeah." I smirked. I pushed away the feeling from earlier and we headed towards the large water ride.
