"I like opening it with you."
Did he really just say that???
Dylan's eyes widden at what he just said.
"I-ummm. What I----I meant was.....well umm" he stuttered nervously. He rubbed the back of his head, trying to figure out what to say.
I walked over to the coffin and picked up his shirt. Then I turned around and threw it at him. He caught and looked up me.
I turned around and put my shirt on. As a tucked it in my shorts, I spoke.
I smiled, "I know what you meant, Mendes. You like opening it with me because..." I paused glancing over at him. "I'm an awesome person, duh."
Dylam chuckled, still rubbing the back of his head.
"Yeah thats what I meant." he said heading towards me.
I turned around and grabbed my hip pack and hat off the coffin. I waited for Dylan to do the same.
He looked up at me.
"What?"
"I need the paper." I replied pointing to the coffin.
He grabbed his hat and hip pack.
"Sorry I forgot you put it in there."
"Your fine."
I opened the lid and grabbed the sheet. I initialed spot and saw there was a spot for Dylan to initial.
"Here let me get that." Dylan said from behind me, making me jump.
I spun around.
And hit my face against something hard.
I backed up, causing myself to trip backwards landing on the coffin.
I looked up, blushing. Dylan had been standing pretty close to me, as I see now for he was standing where I had been only mouments ago.
Dylan stood there looking at me with his mouth open in astonishment. I focused back on him.
"Don't do that!"
"Do what?"
"Scare me like that! I didn't know you were behind me."
"Well--umm....sorry?"
I handed him the paper, "Just initial this please." I said rubbing my temples, frustrated for being caught off guard.
"Yeah, sure."
I peered over at Dylan and glanced at my watch. 12 minutes till opening.
"It doesn't take this long to initial a paper." I said hotly, still fuming over the scare he gave me.
"I'm just looking over everything." he replied coolly, obviously detecting my tone.
"Well I just have to sign and date it so if I could have it back, it would be much appreciated."
Dylan looked up at me.
"What did I do that pissed you off?"
I was caught off guard.
"What?"
"Your clearly peeved at me so I want to know it is."
I looked at him wide-eyed. Boys are usually aren't very good at detecting tones or figuring out when a girl is mad at them.
So when Dylan said that I was surprised.
"You snuck up on me for one. Then you think you need to double check what I did. Even though I know everything is done and done correctly."
Dylan sighed and shook his head.
"I didn't mean to scare you and I'm sorry. And does it hurt to have someone check over something?"
I looked down, blushing.
"I accept your apology and I suppose not.
Dylan walked the short distance to me and handed me the paper. Quickly, I signed and dated it.
I slipped my whistle out from under my shirt and stuck my hat back on.
"I better run this to Q-chair."
A hand reached out in front of me and I took it. Dylan pulled me up off the coffin and I looked up at him.
"I'll stay here and keep the guests away from the stairs. You run that to Q-chair."
"Thanks." I said and I walked towards the front with Dylan trailing behind me.
When we reached the exit, Dylan when to the trashcan that blocked the entrance.
I walked a few feet away when Dylan yelled out to me.
"Hey!"
I turned around to look at him.
"We good?" he asked with a thumbs up.
I smiled.
"We're good."
I turned back around and headed towards Q-chair, a smile still on my face from that boy.
