"Do I get a say?", Herald said vexed and bored.

I gritted my teeth before sitting down on the chair nearest to me.

"Firstly, you can't marry a person before getting the divorce. Its illegal. Secondly, you can always claim child support from Aaron after getting the divorce. Thirdly, if you are a working parent then you have to have a nanny for the child. Aaron will meet all expenses." He said looking at me.

"Thought you were my lawyer." Aaron glared.

"Sorry Pal, I can't lie and hide the rules of the country." He said.

I closed my eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. Aaron couldn't do anything. I could live with my child and without Aaron.

"How much time will the divorce take?" I asked impatience clear in my voice.

"Depends. Both of you will sign the papers. The court will pass a date. But before all that, Aaron requested for couple counseling and you have to attend those. If you still hold no feelings for your husband after the sessions then we will continue with the divorce."

"What if she doesn't want to attend the sessions?" Matt asked.

"It will only make her case stronger." The lawyer then thumped Aaron's back, "Outside."

They left the room.

From Herald's point of view ---

"You can easily leave her and marry someone else, or better, be single again. I don't know why you are so stuck up!" I said.

No one knew what Aaron thought.

"What counselling sessions? What was all that about? I thought I was paying 1000 dollars an hour for a reason." That man needed to calm his ass down.

"American Law would never let you have the baby without the mother's assent and if the mother discloses the fact that you were away for months without any contact..."

He interrupted me.

"I fucking didn't leave the house! She did. She betrayed me with her boyfriend again and again. She did what Juliette did, tricking me with babies."

"I am not talking about the last few months. You know you have a weak case, you can't buy the judge. I promised to help you and I am doing it."

"You are," he said sarcastically "by helping my dearest wife."

I rolled my eyes. Fishing out a cigarette and lighter from my pocket, I lit the cigarette and placed it between my lips. I took a breathe in and drew smoke. Aaron lifted the cigarette from my lips and threw it on the ground. He smashed the flame with his shoes and looked up at me.

"What the hell Man?" I asked.

"That's cancer stick and my child is in the next room." He answered.

"Fuck. Fine. About the divorce case, you wanted no publicity and no divorce. Its not easy but not impossible either. You will just have to do what I say."

He nodded .
