Sorry guys for late update!

Savannah's POV

I have read in books that sometimes talking or even looking into the eyes of people becomes difficult when you love and hate them at the same time.  The same was happening with me.  Even in that disheveled condition,  no other guy could compete with Aaron. He actually had bags under his eyes but those eyes spoke so much.  They kept stealing glances at me, trying to ask me to leave him and stay with him simultaneously.

I didn't know what to do either.  I couldn't just stand here looking at him saying one thing redundantly.  Even Aaron knew that.

"You cannot control me. If you want to give away your money, give it to charity.  My son and I do not need your money after how you treated us"

As if I had slapped him,  he flinched and stepped back.  Turning his back on me again,  he nodded and said, "You are absolutely right.  I do not control you. Even when we were husband and wife, I had no right to control you.  I should have respected you. I was a poor husband Savannah. And I was a... " he stopped. There was a hitch in his voice,  like he was controlling his emotions, "a bad father. I am not giving you this money as charity or to control you and Jim. Please do not think so.  This money is yours.  As my wife,  you deserved all that money.  Now that we are divorced,  you should get your and Jim's part of the money."

I didn't correct him when he said divorced.  He probably thought I consented the divorce in the court. There were so many new emotions in his words as well.  He actually spoke Jim's name with love. There was sadness and guilt in his voice, something I never expected from Aaron,  the CEO of a large hotel chain.

There was a knock on the door, the main door.  Aaron turned to look at me and said, "Is that Matt? You probably should leave now.  It is getting late."

"It is close to 9:30am and no that is not Matt.  That is the food that I ordered for you."

"I do not need food.  I need.. "

"Shut up. You may not be hungry but I am and I paid for it so I am not wasting it."

He nodded and went to get the food inside.  There was enough food for two but I had lied.  I actually had breakfast in the morning.

Aaron set the food on the table and waited for me to start

Aaron set the food on the table and waited for me to start.  I couldn't think of anything to make him eat that delicious salad and fresh orange juice.

Damien probably didn't know Aaron's favorites.  I sat on the table and pretended to look at my nails.  Aaron sat as well, which was surprising.

"Shit! This salad has no fork.  How will I eat?"

He frowned and fished the fork out of the paper bag.

"Here" he said.

"I have wet nails" I said.
