When Tale went to school the next day, she was astonished to find that everything seemed TOO normal. The teachers didn't seem to care she'd skipped out of class.

At first, when she realised this, she wondered if perhaps Zoran had "magically" turned back time to Monday Morning, but she remembered that she'd saw Noah reading the Tuesday Morning newspaper, drinking the latte's he only ever drank on Tuesday.

No...it was more like their MEMORIES had been erased.

She sauntered into her first class. Science. Her favourite subject, but the first person she noticed was defiantly not her favourite person AT ALL.

Zoran sat casually on his chair, legs propped up on the table, twirling his pencil around under his nose.

"Tale, a little late. But oh well, this is our new student Zoran. Please look after him today, he might need a little help."

"Oh yeah Mr.Isgro. Zoran will need help...MENTAL help that is." She snarled at the beaming green eyed kid.

"Ah Miss.Tale. I see that giving you a goodnight kiss has hardly softened your attitude towards me. Perhaps we can have that re-match later, eh?"

This exchange started babbling at this little exchange, whilst Mr.Isgro looked rather amused.

"I'm glad to see you're both such good friends. Please understand, no kissing and no fights in class thanks."

"So if I take Zoran out into the corridor..."

"NO TALE. Golly, sit down will you."

Unfortunately, the only seat available was beside "Summer", so Tale dragged her feet to the seat beside Zoran.

"Hey."

"...please don't do anything retarded in class."

"Please don't embarrass me. I am the NEW KID after all." sniggered Zoran.

"Oh please...FAIRY BOY. You think you're so naughty and cool. Like...Puck. From Shakespeare's-"

"Midsummer's night dream, yeah. That guy's an inspiration." sighed Zoran as Mr.Isgro began drawing diagrams of protons, neutrons and electrons.

"Oh yeah? Well you remind me of...Peter Pan."

Suddenly, the sky outside darkened. The atmosphere went down to possibly under zero. Kids breathed in and out haggardly, their breath swirling in the cold. Mr.Isgro gasped, his skin blue from cold. Shivering in her seat, her arms and face numb, Tale was horrified to find no sun when she looked outside-just pitch black.

"Z-Zoran." she turned to find Zoran looking at her murderously. His cheeky smile was gone. His eyes were an even darker, more sinister shade of green. They contrasted greatly against his light brown curls that bordered them.

"Don't. Ever. Call. Me. Peter. Pan." he snarled, his voice weighing heavily on each word.

"W-What's g-g-going on?" shivered Tale.

"I'm sucking all my magic out. Out from the sun, from the leaves, everything. No heat, cause the sun provides heat, but I'm pushing the sun away so that the world becomes a freezing hell." simply replied Zoran.

"P-Please, I s-s-s-sorry."

"Fine. BUT ONLY CAUSE I'M NICE."

Tale blinked, and found herself writing down the facts Mr.Isgro was writing up on the board. Stopping her hand, she looked around to find everyone continuing on as if nothing had happened. The sun gently snuck out from behind a cloud, allowing a little ray of sunshine to fall on Tale's desk. It was now pleasantly warm.

'Thank God.' thought Tale, turning towards Zoran's desk. She half expected him to not be there, but she was disappointed to find he was still there. He seemed to understand everything with ease.

'Lucky jerk.' thought Tale ruefully, and turned back to her work.

For the remainder of the morning, she made a point to avoid Zoran. But he wasn't lonely. The coolest people in year 10 added him to their little 'collection' of models. He was right at home with the boys there, and the girls flirted hard with him. More often than not, he flirted back. He was much nicer to them. That was for certain.

Tale pushed it out of her mind, and walked to her "special place" which wasn't too far from the cool people. Leaning against the tree trunk, she began reading her book. It was quite nice. About a girl in world like medieval Europe, who was a princess. But she fell in love with a soldier, but when he goes missing in a war, she runs away from her princess life to find him. Tale enjoyed it so much, before even reading chapter 4, she went out and bought all the other books written by the same author.

"Good book?"

Tale looked up in surprise to see a girl around her age. She had brushed and quite silky brown hair and dark green eyes. If she had been with Zoran when Tale first met her, she would've thought she was Zoran's sister.

The girl smiled at her, and held out a hand, which Tale shook. "My name's Gaia. I'm in the other class, and I'm new here."

"Hey Gaia. Tale. Been here since preschool."

"Well for an oldie, you don't seem so popular huh?"

"Ha, yeah I guess so."

For all of Recess, they chatted about pointless things, but seemed to grow an amazing bond over that time.

Gaia loved the colour light green, she loved to explore places, and was a bit of a fighter. She was full of spunk, and was certainly wild and looked like the type to get into a fight easily.

But as Tale fell asleep that night, she dreamt many things about what she and her first friend could get up to later.
