Tale and Gaia sat side by side under the tree in view of the coolbies. Tale and Gaia were discussing a book they two had been reading, when the conversation somehow led to fantasy, despite the book being a historical fiction on Pearl Harbor.
Tale was debating wether to tell Gaia about her little Summer issue. She was a little unsure. They'd only just become friends, but she felt she could trust Gaia with anything. But then Gaia spoke up.
"You know, I don't wanna sound bonkers or anything, but I have always felt there's something supernatural about Hillwood. I've been home schooled almost all my life. So I'm usually always outside with my studies, but there's something fantastical about this place, you get me?"
Tale nodded enthusiastically. She then spilt everything. EVERY TINY DETAIL.
Silence ensued and Gaia nodded slowly.
"Huh."
"Okay spill it you don't believe me." groaned Tale into her arms, "I shouldn't have mentioned it."
"No no no!!! I'm so glad you trust me enough to tell me!!!" cried Gaia grasping Tale's hands.
Tale grinned a stupid smile of giddy happiness, until a slight shadow made them cast their faces upwards.
Zoran scowled at Gaia. "Go away. I wanna talk to Tale."
Before Gaia could answer back, Tale snarled, "I told her about you."
Zoran suddenly started laughing like an insane clown. Seeming to forget his purpose for talking to Tale, he walked away.
"Weirdo..." muttered Tale, before getting up. Gaia followed suit.
"Hey Gaia..."
"What's up Tale?"
"Do you want to follow him?"
"Who?"
"Him." Tale pointed to Zoran, who wasn't following his group who were walking towards the main school. Instead, he was obviously sneaking away down the hill.
"I'm game if you are." giggled Gaia, and the two girls snuck after the boy.
Zoran lightly ran through the lush light green of the hill that the school sat upon.
Gaia and Tale quickly ran through the greenery after him, staying as quiet as they possibly could.
After a while, Zoran 'led' them to the exact same wood in which he first met Tale. Gaia raised her eyebrows at Tale who shrugged, just as baffled as her.
"Where is he going Tale? To some sort of fairy land where only summer exists?" asked Gaia, her face perfectly serious. Tale had to stop herself from laughing and wound up smirking.
"I think I know. Come on." Tale led Gaia through the beautiful greenery. Gaia slowed every now and then to look around in wonder. Then-
"Tale??? What the heck..." Noah was standing a few good feet away from them, looking astonished at seeing Tale out of school.
"Noah??? What're you doing here???" cried Tale, surprised herself, "Gaia this is my cousin Noah, Noah my friend Gaia."
Noah nodded his head briefly at Gaia before looking back to Tale. "You're meant to be in school! Go back right now."
"Tell me, did Zoran tell you to come here?" demanded Tale. Noah looked surprised.
"Well yes actually..."
"Tale? Noah?" Zeke emerged from behind Tale and Gaia, looking confused, his dirty blonde hair plastered with sweat and leaves.
"Zeke!!! Well...this is my friend Gaia. My little brother Zeke Gaia." Tale hurriedly said the introductions.
"What the heck is this?" demanded Noah, running his hand through his hair, his sweet eyes flickering.
Zoran watched them, their confusion. Another man stood beside him. His face was weathered and wrinkled with age. His face was a dark brown, and gave him the look of a long withered tree.
"3 humans and a the next guardian of Summer. Good job Zoran." the man smiled, his teeth crooked and yellow.
Zoran snarled, looking with fear at the confused group. "Promise you won't hurt them?"
"I keep my word boy."
Tale spotted Zoran walking out towards them.
"Jerk face?" She ran towards him, before giant winds picked them all up.
Leaves, branches, dirt flew all around in a tornado hell. Tale screamed and reached out for her brother, cousin, best friend and the Summer boy.
When she awoke, she wouldn't find herself in a beautiful green wood amongst the hills of Hillwood, but at the sharp end of a sword in front of dazzling castle gates.
HEY guys!!! Just for fun, I'm writing another story too. Please read it, it's called "Childhood dreams" and it's not a fantasy but a romance for 13+ :D
