Chapter 19...
Raffie
After eating dinner, I went to my room and got ready for bed.
Suddenly, Rhia came in. She jumps into bed and smiles like a maniac.
"Why are you smiling like that?" I ask without hiding my curiosity.
She sits up and faces me.
"Because," she places her hands on her lap, "I heard from a little bird that the guy that my sister likes is courting her."
My eyes became as wide as saucers when those words came out of her mouth.
I went towards her, and sat on the her bed.
"How'd you know?" I asked desperately.
She looks up, like she's thinking about her answer. Then, she took my hands and held it.
"You know Daniella right?" She asks.
I nodded.
"Well, she texted me, just an hour ago, that her cousin is courting someone," she says. "And that someone is Javier."
I look at her dumbfounded.
"Daniella, as in the Daniella?" I ask.
Rhia nodded in reply.
Daniella Lopez is related to Javier?
When? And how?
As in my bestfriend Daniella?
I moved away from my sister and sat in a fetal position and rocking myself. I started feeling guilty for not telling my folks about this.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Rhia asks.
I look at her, a few tears have fallen.
"I should've told you already. I didn't want anyone to get mad at me," I said through sobs. "Please forgive me."
"Oh. It's only me who knows. Mom and dad don't know it yet." She pulls me into a hug and strokes my hair.
"And, to be honest, mom and dad wanted you and Javier to be a thing." She says.
I look at her surprised.
"Really?" I ask.
She nodded. "Mmhmm. So don't worry about it. Just don't do a thing that would make them want you to be apart."
I nodded.
I smiled at my sister and hugged her again.
"What could I do with out you, sis?" I say.
"Maybe you would be crying you eyes out, and there will be a new river." She says.
We laugh. Though that would've been true, I might as well tell everything to Raymond.
Then a thought hit me.
"Hey, what's up with Ray? I haven't talked to him for a while." I asked.
Rhia waves her hand, like it's nothing. "I don't know. He's been keeping things to himself, always on the phone, texting or calling."
We sigh.
"Damn! All of my siblings are in love. I wonder when I'll find mine," she says out of no where.
I took her hand in mine.
"Don't worry about it. At least you, you could still enjoy singlehood," I say, trying to be optimistic.
