Kristen's POV

Something was obviously bothering Joey.  This was the first time he had ever called me girl.  When he uses it, it's usually for just friends.  I decided it was best to drop it and not ask questions.  "So, why did you run out on me?"  He asked.  "Uh... My mom was calling," I replied.  It was the lamest excuse ever.  "Why?"  He asked.  Gosh, he was grilling me.  I really couldn't ignore his behaviour anymore.  "Alright Joey.  Why are you acting like this?  You are talking to me all pissed like you're my father."  It hurt me to see him act like this.  "Really?  You're joking right?  You're gonna act like you're pissed at me.  I am pissed, Kristen.  I know what you and Sawyer did.  Don't deny it.  He opened right up to me and explained exactly what happened in detail."  How did I know that Sawyer would tell?  He could barely hold up the secret for one frikken day.  Now I couldn't implement my plan to tell Joey gently.  "Joey... I'm really sorry.  I didn't want you to find out like this."  My eyes began to water.  "Well you really, really screwed up Kristen.  I just can't even believe that you kissed my roommate and best friend.  Do you understand how awkward that it going to be for me?"  He was on the verge of breaking.  "Sawyer said one thing that may help you.  He said you pulled away and told him to stop.  Is this true?"  Maybe there was hope for Joey and me after all.  "Yeah, that's true."

Joey's POV

Maybe I shouldn't have believed Kristen, but I believed her when she said she told Sawyer to back off.  "So you really did?  You didn't want to kiss him?"  If she said yes, we may have been able to fix our relationship.  "Yes... I didn't want to."  Her voice trailed off a bit and she glanced down at her feet.  She was lying.  "No, I know that look.  You are lying to me, and you'd better admit it."  My face was red-hot with anger.  "Yes, I'm lying.  I don't know what else to tell you.  It happened, and I'm so so sorry.  You are the one I really want."  "How can you really say that?!  You kissed my absolute best friend, and you did it in our house!  You LIKED it, too?  What kind of a girlfriend does that?"  She smiled slightly, confusing me.  "I'm your girlfriend?"  She said to me.  I avoided the question.  "Just stop.  Can't you understand that what you did has killed me on the inside? I thought we were really going somewhere."  I couldn't filter the words that were spilling out of my mouth.  "Yeah, sure.  Mr. 'We aren't going anywhere'."  She fired back at me.  "Oh really? You're gonna play that card?  Well how about this: I don't know if you were my girlfriend, but whatever this is is done.  We are over.  You need to leave."
