Characters
Characters are such an important part of writing. They bring live to the story. They make you feel so many emotions: sadness, happiness, anger and many more. They are a way in which you can also add little bits of yourself in. They are the ones that are build throughout story
Strong characters - in my opinion - are the ones that do not necessary look strong; they might be mentally strong or both. There is also this interesting thing about when you show their breaking points since you can see their emotional side.
Characters that are not straight, are also awesome. They bring diversity to the stories. So, overall the characters you build up through your writing are wonderful and however you decide to build them is up to you.
