Hi guys, sorry about not updating for a while. My mental health is not the best at the moment, I'm in the process of being diagnosed. IDK what the hell is up but hey ho. I also had NO FRICKING WIFI FOR AGES SO I WAS DYING.

But, here you go, my lovely readers, without further ado, the new chapter...

No.

Please. No -

"- Sirius are you quite alright?"

Sirius jerked his head up and flashed a quick, apologetic smile at his scowling father and this... girl. She looked a few years younger than he was. About sixteen.

He offered his hand for Marlene's, she took it and gave a it a demure shake. She smiled flirtatiously at him and Sirius felt like he needed to vomit from sheer terror. He tried for a warm smile but it was slightly stilted and felt extremely fake.

Neither Marlene or his father noticed the fear behind his bright grin. Marlene blushed and looked away shyly. Great. She was already smitten.

Sirius swallowed uncomfortably, shifting on the spot.

This was going to be hard.

....

"Remus?" Sirius said in a small voice.

Remus put down the jacket he was folding and turned to look at him.

"Yeah?"

"Can you sit with me?" He whispered, " I have something to tell you..."

Remus smiled comfortingly and climbed onto the bed beside Sirius, who drew his knees to his chest.

Remus' eyebrows drew closer together ad he saw the sorrow on Sirius' face.

"What's wrong, love?" Remus said gently as he wrapped his arms around Sirius.

Sirius leaned into Remus' body, he was warm, and strong from his work in the estate. Taking a shuddering breath, Sirius turned his head to look into Remus' hot whiskey eyes. (Sick FOB reference alert m8s)

"I- I'm getting married, Remus."

Remus froze. Tears began to snake their way down Sirius' pale cheeks. The dark shadows around his eyes stood out against the pallor of his skin.

Remus pulled Sirius closer to him and wrapped his arms around the smaller man. Sirius' self control shattered, and in that moment, the world stopped. Tears flowed freely as Sirius buried his face in Remus' chest and grasped weakly at his shirt.

Remus felt numb. He stared blindly at the wall, methodically stroking Sirius' tangled black hair, feeling the silky strands slip through his fingers - just as Sirius might soon do.

They stayed in that position for the rest of the night, Sirius' tears falling on Remus' skin while Remus murmured soft words and occasionally pressed a kiss to Sirius' shoulder or forehead .

....

Come morning time, Lily bustled in once again, but, in a more subdued manner than usual. Her shoulders sagged slightly.

She knew what was happening, but the effect it was having on Sirius was devastating.

She walked over to the bed and sighed dejectedly when she saw the two young men curled up together, grasping at each other, Remus protecting the one he loved so much.

Lily sighed once again and pushed a lock of her bright hair behind her ear. She'd heard all about Remus from Sirius, and, occasionally, when they had time to talk, Remus would show her the beautiful sketches he had drawn of the man he could call his own.

Lily would gladly kill for those boys, and had almost been driven to that by Greyback, the foul groundsman who had been so rude to Remus for years.

Now someone else was muscling in on their relationship, Lily set her mouth in a hard line, and they were not going to hurt her boys.
