Maya's POV

The party was really weird. What happened between Lucas and I really wasn't on purpose it just happened. I didn't want it to happen I thought it would destroy my friendship with Riley, but the thing is, it didn't?

I'm pretty sure she's hurt somehow, but then again she sounded so sure that she wasn't upset and sounded like she was hiding something as well.

To be honest if she is hurt and is hiding it, I wouldn't be offended or anything. Her and Lucas had a connection no could really explain yet they didn't date. Now I've always knew that which is why I didn't think I had a chance with him until one night when we were alone together.

We talked. We connected. Next thing we knew we kissed and noticed we have feelings for eachother. Which of course lead us up to this. Me knocking on Riley's window an hour earlier.

Few seconds later a ,sleep and fresh face,Riley came to the window.

"Hey peaches, what's up? It's like 2 in the morning," she said.

"I know..um..can we talk about Lucas?"

"Oh, there really isn't much to talk about. You guys have feelings I'm okay with that."

"But -" she cut me off.

"But nothing. Maya, trust me I'm okay with you guys being together. Trust me."

And I did trust her. We said our goodbyes and headed back to sleep.

I couldn't fall back to sleep at all. Once I wake up I can't go back to sleep. Instead I went on Netflix and watch "One Tree Hill" until 6am and git ready for school.

Despite our awkward conversation last night, I still went to Riley's apartment.

We didn't talk as much which her parents notice and left the table. Even with them being gone we didn't talk at all and just left for school later on.

Once we got outside, we saw Lucas. Oh shoot. I forgot he was going to pick me up and we go to school together.

"Oh..um.. Riley, do you want to go for a ride with Lucas?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure I don't feel like using the subway anyways," She replied.

We approached Lucas and we asked him for a ride. He seem confused, but then he caught on that I forgot he was taking me and I didn't want to leave Riley alone.

-skip to school-

Since, Lucas has to go see his coach for something it was just me and Riley. We walked through the doors and right away, people are whispering and pointing at Riley.

Riley and I looked at eachother confused, but then something got our attention.
