{A/N}: Another rant piece. Inspired by Queen Tahereh Mafi, author of the Shatter Me series. Enjoy ^
I want to fall in a dark abyss
and fill every fracture, every hole, every tiny mistake we've carved into our humanity
and try to stop the wind from blowing in,
the waves from rushing through,
the will from seeping out.
I want to bang on the walls and ask
"Is this real?"
I want to know if anyone else feels this way;
this untidiness of my scrambled thoughts
dripping into this pen
which leaks my horrible, uncoordinated words
being silently thrust into the world to see.
These words that are capable of
stripping a man bare of his strength;
stripping a woman bare of her dignity;
stripping a child bare of its innocence.
Sometimes I just want to wake up
and optimism will be there to greet me,
with just enough light to chase away the monsters -
but this is the real world
and the real world has no time for warmth.
In the real world not everyone is smiling when you wake up.
In the real world not everyone cares if you're hurting.
In the real world not everyone can make you happy.
In the real world you're more often than not
alone.
