|~I don't really hate him~|

The weeks leading up to the Broadway fundraiser flew by ridiculously. Ashley and Walter had chosen to sing I Hate You from If/Then. As much as they wanted to do a love song, they couldn't risk piggy finding out about them.

The night of the fundraiser was chaotic to say the least. Costumes were missing and hair wasn't done. It was a mess. Luckily Janice and Floyd, Walter and Ashley, and Teeth and Kylie were ready to go. That gave everyone else a good 15 minutes to get themselves together.

Janice and Floyd went out to perform and they did amazing. They sang As Long as You're Mine from Wicked. Janice had an amazing voice for Elphaba. Ashley and Walter were up next.

They decided to act out the beginning of the scene that I hate you is in so that no one gets confused.

Walter walked out and picked up his pretend cell phone.

He said his lines and looked incredibly sad. No one realized he was this good of an actor.

Ashley waited for her cue and then walked out.

They continued with their background act. Ashley couldn't look Walter in the eye. Telling him she hated him felt ridiculous because she was more in love with him than anything else.

They finally finished their acting portion and began the song.

"I hate you"

After this, Sam came out and did the part of the army guy. Ashley had to pay him $100 but it was worth it. They really put on a great performance.

"We believe the insurgents intended the RPG attack to inflict the maximum casualties in the medical facility. Your husband was working his second shift that day. The CO wanted you to know that the number of lives they saved on this deployment alone was extremely-"

And in that moment. Ashley imagined their whole life together. Just her and him.
