Jean’s POV

I opened my eyes…

A beautiful scene was presented; Angel and I’s favorite place. The whole place is covered with flowers, Angel’s favorite flowers. Red roses, pink rose, tulips, daisies and so much more! Two butterflies flew across my face, a black and white butterfly. My sight was caught by those.

As I followed them I saw two girls, faces are unknown. The first girl was wearing a hospital gown and barefooted. The second was in a long white dress with white doll shoes. The black butterfly was caught by the second girl. The white one was with the first.

I stared at both of them and I realized the second girl was wearing Angel’s favorite dress and shoes; her hair was similar with her.

She looked at me with blurred face and whispered a sweet but sorrowful “goodbye”. With a breeze she was gone.

The first girl started to walk towards me but ignored her, thinking about what happened to the second girl.

The girl slightly nudged me and says, “Hi!”

I woke up, hearing my phone ring. Groaning, I pick it up. Angie,  Angel’s mom.

“Hello?!”

“Hello Angie? Why did you call me this early? It’s just.. (I look at the clock) 3:30 am!” surprised by how early that was.

“Jean? Jean! Please, Angel-” her voice sounded like she was crying.

I cut her off when I heard Angel’s name in that voice. “Why? What happen?” fully awake now.

“Just go to the hospital…” relax but sobbing.  Just then I heard a muffled sound of an ambulance.

~

“Miss where’s the room of Angel Hutchencamp?” I hurriedly asked the receptionist.

“Let me just check.” She quickly scanned the computer, “Oh! Room 62 near the emergency room at the back.”

“Thank you!” I shouted will running.

I headed at the back of the hospital, searching for Room 62.

58, 59, 60, 61…

“There!” I knock on the door.

Angie was the one who opened it. When she saw me, she hugged me tightly. She called Daniel,  Angel’s dad, to come with us. She encouraged me to sit in the chair outside the room.

I stopped her, “Wait! I want to see her.”

“It can wait, we should wait for the doctor.” She sits. I followed and so was Daniel.

“What happened?” I’m scared to ask that question. Scared that I can’t handle the whole situation.

“Last night, when we go to her room she’s sleeping like an angel. We check her because when she got home, you carried her, we thought something was wrong. We left her for we thought she’s just tired.” She stopped, crying. I bowed my head thinking of what happened. “ In around 2 in the morning, we heard someone screaming , Daniel and I jumped but we relaxed when it stopped. Then after a few minutes it start again but screaming the word ‘mom and dad!’. We looked at the window and the house in front of us opened their lights. We thought the screaming was from them, just then the floor thud at Angel’s room. We rushed there but all we saw is Angel, lying on the floor with blood in her nose and hands, curled up like a ball. She saw the blood and became unconscious. I quickly called the emergency. They arrived 15 minutes later, they immediately put Angel in the stretcher, and then they interrogated us, asking us about what happened. Then after that I called you knowing that you can help, and you needed to know it. Then here we are, waiting for the doctor.” She finished it still crying.
