I couldn't move, it was weird. I felt awake but at the same time asleep. My vision was tinted orange currently and I couldn't even look around to find out where I was. The last thing I remember was being on a weird space ship and two aliens saved me from it and then we went back to earth. That is all I can currently recall.
I just remained in this immobile state for the longest time it felt like. Unable to do anything.
Tyler's POV
"Battle ball upgraded." Mem said, handing me back my ball. "You should now be able to go into people's heads. We're hoping that you can go into Nicole's head and talk to her there, or look through her memories and find an area that seem blocked off in a way. It'll be weird, and you'll get to see all her memories but if you stay in there too long you could go insane so try to stay focused." Mem explained.
"Also your normal body will resemble a rag doll as long as you're in another person's head." Zen told me.
I looked around. This was cool no doubt, but also terrifying. I was going to go into Nicole's head and see her memories. That and this is new and I still haven't nailed teleportation.
"Now remember, for this to be successful you have to really focus. Otherwise you could end up in somebody else's head and not know right away." Mem warned.
"How would I get back out?" I asked, they told me everything but that. It's apparently harsh being stuck inside someone else's head.
"Teleportation..I'm a way. Just go back to your head by the way you normally teleport any other way." Mem explained.
Great, I still haven't mastered teleporting. This could be interesting. That's probably why they haven't upgraded my battleball until just now. I had to do this though, for Nicole. Or maybe for us. Either way, she has to remember us for what we were before. It was important that she did, she was one of us now.
I placed my battle ball into my chest, and took a deep breath. They all wished me luck and I began focusing as hard as I could into Nicole's memories. A small flash occurred and I was inside of Nicole's head.
I saw many open doors, inside were views of all her memories. I noticed lots were a darker shade, wonder what that meant. I checked one out, it was a small clip of her getting locked inside of a locker. Poor girl.
The deeper into her head I got the more I learnt, I went down many turns but I could not find the opening with us in it. Or something that could be ours.
Although walking through Nicole's head sure taught me a lot about her. She's been bullied for a long time. Practically tortured, and the only ones who did anything about it were her parents. Sure explains a lot about why Nicole acts the way she does.
"Who are you...?" I small voice asked from behind me. I turned around and saw Nicole, the Nicole I knew from before.
"I'm uh, Tyler. I'm trying to make it so you remember me and a few other people." I said to her.
"The locked door you mean? It's hard to open. I knew there was something there that I wanted to remember so much. Something blocked it off a bit ago, but before that something terrifying was behind it....but I also recall something nice. It's been haywire for a bit now." She explained.
"Could you show me to it?" I asked her. She nodded her head and ran off, I followed her deep into her thoughts. It was a little strange for sure, but at the same time fun.
Then it got real dark and there was a single door in the spotlight of the darkness. We walked up to it and she tried opening it but the handle on it would not turn. I had a go at it also, it wasn't working. If we had a key however, then we could unlock the door. It was a strange shape for a key however.
"Have you tried looking for it?" I asked her.
"Well no...I might know where it is though. That keyhole looks familiar. Don't know why that's the key though." She explained looking scared. I felt like I was running out of time, I knew I was probably getting close anyways.
Now to give you an idea of what exactly this keyhole resembled, it was a heart shape. Something you'd probably find on an elementary girl's 'super secret' diary. So I don't know what to expect to happen next.
"Show me where you saw it." I ordered, I mean in a friendly way though.
Nicole nodded and began walking to a nearby door, it was black and white. Inside was a class and a timid looking girl that resembled Nicole holding a small journal with a lock on it in the shape of a heart. A group of girls who were already in the class saw her and immediately looked at her like they were lions and she was their prey.
"Watchya got there Icky?" One of the girl's giggled.
The timid younger Nicole look-alike didn't answer and took her seat.
"Hey, answer when we talk to you Icky!" The same girl said in a more hostile tone.
I watched and the Nicole beside me was teary eyed.
The girls then walked up to little Nicole and snatched the book from her hands. T was still locked.
"Ugh, what secrets could someone as lame as you possible have that they need to be locked up?" The girl who's been talking the most so far hissed. "Hand over the key, or we'll lock you in that locker again." She threatened. Little Nicole hesitantly pulled out the key we need and was about to hand it over.
I decided to step in, the second the girl who's been basically attacking Nicole the whole time got her hands on the key I snatched from her. The whole scene froze. Once I left it the door slammed shut. Nicole had stopped crying.
"What was behind that door?" She asked. She certainly forgot that quickly.
"A memory you never want to see again." I told her. Wish I had the time to make her forget all the bad things but I was close on time as is. We ran to the door we were originally trying to unlock and the key for perfectly. The door was sticky to open still but we got it. Once it opened the entire area lit up brighter than any other part, clips of stuff we've done together played around the edges of the small room the door was in. A sign on top of the door appeared.
It read 'My Friends' and inside were many more doors of us. At the very end it said Superdudes. I guess she already found out it was us before we revealed ourselves.
"Thank you, I now know why it was so important I opened this door. I appreciate your help a lot." Nicole told me smiling.
"Of course, but I have to go now so I'll see you later." I told her before attempting to teleport back into my own head.
There was a slight flash and when I opened my eyes to look around I had five people looking down at me. My friends and Mem and Zen. I smiled.
"Mission...complete." I told them sitting up. I was a little tired believe or not. Using powers is apparently tiring, especially for the 40 minutes I took to complete this task.
I removed my ball and had a nap on the couch inside the galacticus. Nicole still had to finish the process she was in so that her eyes would stay normal and wouldn't risk changing from time to time.
The important thing that happened, was that she remembers us. And hopefully will for a long time.
