We walked in awkward silence for about five minutes.
"So... What's it like being with him all the time?" Ayame asked quietly.
"Him?" I asked, unsure of who she was talking about.
"You know, Kakashi the 'Copy-Cat Ninja'. What's he like?" She asked, not looking at me.
"Oh, Kakashi sensei! Yeah, he's pretty cool. He's quite funny, but sometimes a little annoying..." I said, not sure what to say.
"Oh... That's nice. Why don't you invite him to have some ramen? You know, purely for your benefits, naturally." She said. I noticed the tips of her ears glow slightly pink. I smirked,
"My benefits? Oh come on, Ayame! You can do better..." I chuckled. Ayame stopped, looking surprised at me,
"Huh? What are you talking about?"
"Seriously? I'm not that dumb," I laughed, "it's obvious."
"Really?"
"Yeah..."
"Oh."
We continued walking, until we stopped just outside a small playground. Opposite it was a large pop up stand adorned in juicy, red strawberries. A long queue was standing in front of it, chatting and grabbing at the pots eagerly. I couldn't see who was tending the stand. We walked over to the queue, and planted ourselves at the very end. As we walked over there, people turned and stared at me, whispering behind their hands. I looked to Ayame, frowning,
"What did I do?" I whispered to her. She shrugged,
"Apparently the whole cliff ordeal was a big thing... You know, saving Naruto." She replied.
"Oh. Right." I said, scratching the back of my head and blushing slightly. We waited for a couple minutes before I felt a small tug behind me. I turned and saw a small kid with short, brown hair and a scarf.
"Excuse me, did you save Naruto?" He asked, his small hand clinging to my shirt.
"Uh... Yeah?" I answered,
"Woah! Looks like Naruto has some training before becoming Hokage... Which means I do too!" He grinned.
"Huh? Who're you?" I asked,
"I'm Konoham--" The kid was cut off,
"HONOURABLE GRANDSON, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO STRANGERS?!" A tall man with dark glasses and a bandana ran up to the kid, pulling him away from me.
"But Ebisu sensei, she's the girl who saved Naruto!!" The kid replied, standing in front of me.
"Hmph. Saved the little brat, did you?" Ebisu said, glaring coolly at me. I glared back.
"He's not a brat! He's probably as strong as you!" I snorted, and the kid grinned. Ayame pulled me as we stepped further into the line,
"He's not worth it..." She whispered. I sighed. This battle would continue later. Ebisu pulled the kid away, his cheeks burning a noticeable red colour. The kid waved, before shouting back,
"My name's Konohamaru!" I smiled, and nodded, waving back. We continued in the line, until we reached the counter.
"Hi, how can I--- Aiko?!" The man behind the strawberry pots stood up taller, and I could just see a mop of golden blonde hair and green eyes.
"Tanno!" I grinned, "Hey!"
"Hi!" He chuckled, waving. Ayame waved back,
"Heya Tan. Two pots, please." Ayame said, seeming to ignore the fact that I knew him. I turned to her,
