Louis' POV - 12:24 P.M.
I woke up from my uncomfortable position in the chair to see Marcel still asleep. He was snoring quite a bit, it's cute. I stared at him, praying that he'll get better soon. I guess at this point, I only wish for him to get better and be strong again. I'm nothing compared to his health. I heard the door open with familiar voices to see Anne, mum, and Gemma walk in.
I stood up and greeted them, offering to help them with some bags which I took a peek inside to see food. I was glad because I'm starving.
"Hi mum," I gave her a weak smile.
She pulled me securely into a hug and rubbed my back, "Hi baby. Are you alright?"
"No," I said honestly.
"Aw, we can hope and pray, yeh?" Mum nodded.
"Yeah," I nodded back and returned to the chair beside Marcel.
Marcel suddenly woke up, startled, and sweaty.
Anne and Gemma raced over to him and calmed him down. I stood up but realized that if I touch him, he'll get even more scared. My hand hovered over him, afraid to go any further. Mum stood beside me, gripping my arm.
"We're here baby, we're here." Anne held onto his hand.
"What's wrong, Marcy?" Gemma rubbed his thigh to calm him down.
"I- I just.. I had a dream. It was really weird." He slowly said.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Mum spoke up.
Marcel turned to look at her and his eyes brightened up, "J- Jay?"
She smiled and nodded, he smiled back and used his free hand to shake hers.
"I'm glad you remember me." She let out a few tears.
"Of course, how can I forget?" He smiled brightly.
I was just amazed. So, he can remember my mum but not me? His boyfriend? The one that he spent the entire summer with? The one he did everything with? The one... the one that made him feel good?
I watched them all smile then turned around and made my way out the door. I bumped into a tall, fit form and looked up to see Dr. Ross.
"Oh, I'm sorry sir."
"Louis! Just the person I wanted to see, follow me." He spoke.
I wasn't sure what was going on. Why would he want to see me? But it's not like I had anywhere else to go, so I followed.
We walked into a dark room, on two screens showed x-rays of what looks like a brain, and their were chairs that sat in front of it. He gestured me to sit down and he stood beside the screens.
"This is Marcel's brain," He pointed out, "I was told that you're actually not just his friend. You're his boyfriend, is that correct?"
My eyes widened a bit but I nodded, "Yes."
"You're probably wondering why he can't remember you," He paused and walked over to the other screen, "Well, my conclusion is that on his way to your university all he could think about was you. You were the only person who filled his thoughts the whole way."
I raised my eyebrows at his words and smiled to myself at the thought of Marcel thinking about me and just me.
"So when he crashed, the image and memory of the last person he thought of sort of just flew out of his head. This is common."
Suddenly the thought of Marcel thinking about me didn't seem so pleasant anymore.
"But you'll be happy to know," He interrupted, "That his memory of you can come back at anytime. Usually, it comes back when the patient goes back to his or her normal setting. Which is basically their home or somewhere they have the best memories with you."
