Chapter 17: Back to School

~Chapter 17~

~~4 Months Later~~

Monica's P.O.V

We were back in school. Ugggghhhh great I hated going to school, it was hard to not change when someone really pissed you off. There was a new student in the class. I recognized her black long wavy hair, it was my best friend Maria. I've known her since 3rd grade I was happy to see her here she left to Mexico to be with her mom, I missed her so much I was glad that she was actually here I can't wait to hang out with her again it would be like old times. She sat in the seat in front of me I guess that she saw my face because she hugged me really tight.

Maria: "Ohh my god!! Monica?!?!?"

I nodded my head and had a smile on my face, she hugged me again and I hugged her back.

Maria: "I really missed you I haven't seen you since what like 5th grade."

Monica: "Well you did go to Mexico."

The ball rang and she sat down, we were working on algebra problems and I handed her a note

Can I talk to after school, I need to tell you something important?

I was going to tell her about me being a wolf, but I didn't want to scare her. Would she be terrified if I told her what I was, would she not care that I was a wolf and still be my best friend. I knew that I would put her in danger if I would've told her, but I couldn't keep a secret from my best friend. The bell rang and I went to 2nd period, Maria and I didn't have 2nd period together, but I hope we have the rest of the classes together. I didn't like my 2nd period it was so boring I wanted the bell to ring already. I was going to ditch, but like always I'm too much of a goody goody to ditch any of my classes. An hour had passed by, I wasn't even paying attention to the teacher because I didn't really care, but that didn't really last because he called on me and asked me a question. It was like a really stupid question it was like a 3rd grade level science question.

Mr. Gonzalez: "Monica. Lets see if you were paying attention. Why does your shadow change position throughout the day?"

I knew this question. Well obviously I learned this when I was in 3rd grade. Everybody looked at me, I always hated that. People stare at you every time the teacher calls your name. I cleared my throat getting ready to speak, but of course every time I cough, sneeze, or just clear my throat Kayla always has to say bless you. Every time she said that I would laugh so hard that I would start crying, but I held it in for as long as I could and answered his question.

Monica: "Your shadow changes position because of the earths rotation. The earth slowly rotates as it circles around the sun."

Mr, Gonzalez: "Were you paying attention?"

Monica: "Yes I was because you weren't even talking about shadows. Everybody learns it in like 3rd grade."

Mr. Gonzalez: "Hmmm so you were paying attention."

I didn't answer back I just looked at my desk. I didn't really care about all this stuff. Then the bell rang Ohh thank God!! I got up and went out. It was lunch time, my favorite time of day no teachers were watching you, you could just chill out with your friends. Maria saw me and came to where I was sitting, I introduced her to all my friends.

Monica: "Ummmm Maria I'd like you to meet Jazmine, her boyfriend Stiles, Kayla, and her boyfriend Jackson, and my boyfriend Scott."

Maria: "Hi guys. It's nice to meet you all. Monica, umm can I speak to you I'm private."

Monica: "Sure."

I looked at them that was a sign I used to tell them to listen to what she's gunna tell me, to listen to our conversation.

Monica: "So wats up."

Maria: "Well you remember how you asked if you can talk to me after school?"

Monica: "Yea."

Maria: "I'm not gunna be able to make it."

Monica: "What? Why not?"

Maria: "I got detention."

Monica: "What for. What did you do."

Maria: "I might of started a fight with some girl for getting me pissed off."

Monica: "Ohh well it's ok we can talk tomorrow."

We went back to the table and told everybody that she has been my best friend since 3rd grade.

Monica: "Jazmine, Kayla, Stiles, Jackson, and Scott, I'd like you to meet my best friend Maria. Maria and I have been friends since 3rd grade. She moved to Mexico after 5th grade and I haven't seen her since."

All of them: "It's nice to meet you Maria."

Maria: "Nice to meet you too."

They all smiled and she smiled back I could tell that she was scared with the way Stiles and Jackson were wrestling.

Monica: "Don't worry Maria no one is going to hurt you."

I said it loudly to make it clear for Jazmine and everyone else not to hurt my best friend. Lunch was over and we all went to English and Maria only had one class that I wasn't in. English wasn't really fun either, but it wasn't that bad. The teacher was teaching us stuff that we already knew I zoned out within like the first 5 minutes. I couldn't wait for this class to end. I think I fell asleep cuz all I saw was black then the bell rang I got up quickly and got out. 4th period was fun, but still boring it was fun getting to walk around with Maria it's exactly how it was in 3rd grade at recess we would always walk around and talk. I guess we lost track of time because the bell rang. I left and hung out at the front after school with Jazmine, Kayla, and the boys, but Stiles wasn't there he had detention I don't know how he got detention, but he did. We always hung out in the front after school, we did that even after the detention people went home.

Maria's P.O.V

I went to my 2nd period class with Mr. Diaz. It was my first day and already detention? It sucked ass especially because Mr. Diaz was strict, really strict. He made me and Stiles woah woah wait Stiles, how did he get detention? Well anyway he made me and Stiles stack books or something in the janitors closet. We were stacking the books or whatever it was on the shelves then the door was closed behind us. We went towards the door we, couldn't open it.

Maria: "Maybe it's locked from the outside."

Stiles didn't answer me he just kept banging the door. He started to get angry, really angry. He looked at me and I saw his eyes change color. They went from brown to light yellow he was harry,claws came out, his ears came to a point and his teeth were sharp. I was shocked I took some steps back he came towards me and grabbed my wrist really hard as if he was going to kill me. Then suddenly the door opened and Monica walked in. She grabbed Stiles and threw him. She looked at my wrist and saw that it was bruised really badly.

Maria: "Monica don't worry I'm ok."

She was getting pissed off I heard Stiles say over and over again:

Stiles: "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."

I wondered what was that? What was he, how did he do that, what was going on? How did he leave me a bruise, and become so strong all of a sudden? I needed answers, And I needed them now.
