Percy's POV
Percy couldn't believe it. Standing right there was the love of his life. His wise girl. Yet that was the thing. He couldn't believe it. Why after all this time does she decide to come now?

"A-Annabeth?" He asked. She stared directly with her grey eyes just staring at him. Then she did something he'd never think she'd ever do in a million years.

She stared away from him and ran out of the diner. No way was Percy letting her go that easily.

He saw her running away looking back every once in a while. That's when he started running after her. Why would Annabeth ever run away from him? Because thats not Annabeth. It's a trick from the gods.

Even so, he continued to run after her almost catching up. Another thing too. Annabeth was the fastest runner he's ever known. No way would she let him catch up that easily.

Just as he was so close to catching up to her, she made a sharp turn down a familiar street. Isn't that Jason and Piper's house? Percy thought as they got closer to the building.

Annabeth knocked on the door quickly. Someone opened the door but he couldn't tell if it was Jason or Piper. They let Annabeth in and closed the door quickly.

Percy approached the door but hesitated to knock. How did Jason and Piper be home at this hour? Didn't they miss the funeral for something important to do? If it was so important why are they home now?

All these questions flooded into Percy's mind as he stood before the door.

Just as he was about to knock he heard voices coming from inside.

"-are you doing here?" A voice that sounded a lot like Piper's asked.

"It's time for him to know the truth" a second voice said.

The voice sounded so much like Annabeth's that it brought tears to his eyes. He wanted to hear her voice so badly he just didn't expect this moment to be the time that he'd hear it again.

But Percy still doubted that this was Annabeth. This person didn't act like her at all. Yet she looked like her and she sounded like her.

When he knocked on the door, the voices stopped.

The person who opened the door was none other than Piper Mclean.

"Uh hey Percy. H-how can I help you?" Piper asked.

Percy answered with a question of his own. "Mind explaining why I saw Annabeth come inside your house just a minute ago?"

A look of confusion flashed on Piper's face for a second then it came back to normal.

"Well...maybe you should come in" Piper said looking anxious.

"Where's Jason?" Asked Percy as he walked in.

Piper looked down not revealing her face. "I guess I need to explain that too."

When Percy sat down Annabeth emerged from the one of the bedrooms. "Annabeth....?" Tears flooding his eyes.

"No Percy it's not." Piper said quickly. "It's.....my mother. You can only see Annabeth because she's the most beautiful person you know so that's how who you see Aphrodite as."

"She's right you know" Anna-
Aphrodite said.

"Oh" Percy said he couldn't help but feel disappointed. He could've been with his true love but the gods seemed to love to ruin his life.

"Mom maybe you should-"

"Oh yes sorry sweetie" Aphrodite said as she changed into a different form no longer looking like Annabeth.

"Why did you bring me here?" Asked Percy.

"Well honey Piper has something to tell you but I had to bring you here so that she can finally admit a secret she's been hiding to you."

"Mom I can speak for myself. Can you please leave?" Said Piper with a desperate tone in her voice.

Aphrodite only shrugged and disappeared.

" so what's this secret?" Percy asked.

Piper sat down not looking very comfortable. She took a deep breath and said something Percy would never, ever forget.
