You're standing at a table with Neal. You see some of your girlfriends walking your way. Crap. You don't really feel like explaining everything to them. They wouldn't understand it anyway. 'We have two hours to kill. Do you want to grab a coffee?' you ask Neal.
'Yeah, sure. We've got plenty of time.'
You go to your locker and walk outside. You have a really good talk with Neal. He's actually kinda sweet. It's nice to talk with a guy for a change. For some reason guys get 'love' better than girls. Most girls just get the guy they want, without a lot of effort. Or they're just hopeless romantics. But life isn't that easy.
'What coffee do you want?' Neal asks.
'A latte macchiato, please.'
You take your wallet and want to pay. 'Don't,' Neal says, 'I got this.'
Awww that's so sweet. Why is he paying? You don't even know him that well.
'Thanks, that's sweet.'
You actually don't really know what to say.
'Do you want to go for a little walk?', he asks a bit shy.
'Yeah, sure. Let's go to the park.'
You live in this beautiful, old town with a very old and very beautiful bridge. It has been silent for a while. The two of you are just sipping coffee and walking over the bridge. Suddenly Neal starts to speak.
'I wish I could say I don't envy you...'
'Uhmm, okay. But why?'
'Well you kind of know what you want from love and I really wish I did as well.'
'But why don't you know what you want. You've probably been in love right? It should be just that feeling. When you've felt that you never want to settle for anything less.'
'Yeah that's easy for you to say. You won't get judged when you fall in love.'
'What the hell are you talking about, Neal?'
'You know what, never mind. We're back at school anyway.'
'Allright. If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. But you can talk to me if you want to.'
'Okay, maybe I will sometime.'
'Thanks again for the coffee!'
'No problem. See you tomorrow!'
