Monday morning, I had been awake all night, since the nightmare, I didn't want to go back to sleep. I couldn't keep it inside anymore. So I decided to talk to my best friend, Amy. "Hey, Carly!" Amy said running up to me. "Hi!" I said. We gave a quick hug and she started telling me about the new guy she likes, named Zack. I pretended to be interested, but my mind kept wandering. "Hey um I need to talk to someone, desperately. You got a minute?" I asked. "Oh sure, Car, what's on your mind?" She asked. "Well I've been having these dreams- well nightmares. And they all involve me.. Like attempting to kill myself and I don't know what's going on, like I'm not depressed or anything." I said. She looked at me with wide eyes. "Car, they're just dreams, right?" She asked. "Yes but they're like reoccurring nightmares that won't stop" I said. "Well... Maybe your mind is trying to tell you something. But whatever you do don't listen to the dreams!" She said. "I love you, Car, you're my best friend, please don't ever kill yourself" I smiled. "Don't worry, Amy, I wouldn't dream of it" I said. "Well actually you did dream of it..." Amy said. I just rolled my eyes and hugged her. "Okay well wanna come over tonight?" I asked her. "Sure" she said.
Later that night, Amy came over. We were hanging out in my room as usual. Then her phone rang. She had a short conversation and tried to keep her cool, but she was smiling uncontrollably. When she hung up she screamed with excitement. "What?" I asked with laughter. "That was Zach he just asked me out!" She squealed. I hugged her and we laughed. "When's the date?" I asked. "Friday night!" She said. "Sweet!" I said. "He said he's taking me to a movie and to dinner!" She said. I was truly happy for her, but to be honest, a bit jealous I guess, I've never really been on a date before. "Oh my God, what should I wear!?" She asked me. "I have like nothing ugh, wanna go shopping with me after school tomorrow, Car?" She asked me. "Sure" I said laughing. "Yay! Well I have to get home, see ya tomorrow!" Amy said, and hugged me. After she left I went downstairs and ate some dinner.
I lived in a home in Baltimore, Maryland with just my mom and 12 year old sister, Sarah. We live in a very small home, and we hardly have enough money to make it, with only one working parent. My father left us when my mom was pregnant with Sarah, I never will forgive him for that, he said it was too expensive to have a family, and they could never afford two kids, plus he was a cheater, he cheated on my mom and she never even knew until about a year ago. Now he lives in New York and I haven't seen him since I was 7 and Sarah was 4, and I never want to see him again.
"I got us some tacos from Taco Bell" Mama said. That was exciting for us. "Yay!" Sarah said. "Sarah, you have a doctor appointment at 1 tomorrow. Don't forget." Mom said. "But mom I hate the doctor!" Sarah said. "Everyone does, but it's just one of those things you have to do anyway" mama said. "Fine..." Sarah agreed finally. We ate our tacos and then watched cable TV the rest of the night.
