17. Missed beat

Ruggero just finished the call and quickly got up and ran towards the door.

"Jorge, Diego come on fast!" He shouted. We followed him.

"What is happening?" Asked Diego.

"Yeah, who is maybe not alive?" I questioned him worriedly as we got in the car.

"Tini..." He said. My heart missed a beat.

"What?" I asked with pale face.

"She..she is stabbed.." He continued.

"Who did that Ruggero? Who?!" I shouted ready to punch something.

"I don't know... Cande just told me to come to the hospital as soon as possible" he finished.

This is not happening. She can't be stabbed! Who would do something like that? She hasn't done anything bad to anyone.

"I swear when I find out who did it I'll beat the hell out of him and strangle him with my own hands." I spoke quietly.

There was a long silence, until Diego broke it.

"Hey, she'll be okay. She's a strong girl.." Diego said rubbing my shoulder.

"Yeah, I hope so.." I said. One tear slid down my cheek.

"Hello, how can I help you?" Asked the nurse politely as we entered the hospital and came to reception.

"We are here for Martina Stoessel" explained Diego.

"She's on a surgery right now. You can go to the third floor and wait for here in there." She told us.

We practically ran to the third floor. As soon as we got there we saw Mechi and Cande sitting there. Mechi had her head on Cande's shoulder and Cande was stroking her arm lightly. They were both crying.

When they noticed us they immediately stood up and ran towards us. Cande hugged Ruggero and Mechi hugged me. I held her close while broking into tears with my head in her hair.

We were standing there crying for a couple of minutes.

"What had happened with her?" Diego asked pretty upset.

"W-we don't know... We ju-just...found her in a pool of bl-blood..." Cande said crying really hard.

"Where is the wound?" Ruggero asked.

"On h-her neck" Mechi shortly answered.

"What did the doctor say?" I continued with the questions blankly staring at the white wall in front of me.

"Nothing... They just took her in a rush to the surgery room.... Lots of doctors and nurses were rushing inside and outside of it..." Cande explained.

I can't believe that this is all happening... And I can't do anything but feel responsible for Tini being attacked. I left her alone, I wasn't there to help her, to protect her...

"Did you call Mariana and Alejandro?" Rugge asked.

"No actually.. We didn't have their phone number." Mechi explained.

"We have to tell them" I said. They all looked at me. Then Diego suddenly spoke " I'll call them."

I'm so nervous. Two and a half fucking hours had passed, and Tini is still having a surgery. What if she's not gonna be okay? What if she dies? Fuck Jorge, that's not gonna happen, right?

I'm so mad, so sad and so afraid...

I was deep in my thoughts that I didn't realize that I was now walking down the hall from left to right, all over and over again.
