Chapter Twenty-Five - Seducing Heather
Rein pulled out his golden pocket watch and glanced at the face, the hands were pointed at twelve.
Midnight.
It wouldn't be much longer before Ryder showed up. He folded his thick arms across his broad chest, and with the small movement, sinew muscle bunched and rippled underneath his shirt. He pressed his back up against the bark of a nearby large tree. He arranged for Ryder to meet him in the forest again. It was safer for both of them this way. No prying eyes of the public and no reporters trying to catch a glimpse of the Ghost in action. He closed his eyes and intently listened to his surroundings, becoming aware of every noise, every whistle of the wind through the trees, acclimatizing with nature so he could pinpoint out of the ordinary.
Soft wind blew brittle, dry leaves, nearby Owls hooted in the tree tops, and crickets sang their routinely night song into the night sky. The moon was only half-full tonight, but it illuminated just enough of the narrow path he was walking along to see where he was going. From this angle, he would be able to see Ryder as he approached. It feels like he has waited an eternity for this day to come. He has such a deep craving to have his twin hunting with him side by side; two predators blending into the shadows, religiously stalking the streets as they sought out their next victims.
His mind was racing with a multitude of possibilities. So many things they could explore and learn about together -- for instance: how their torture methods differ from one another? He wanted to see it all -- he wanted to experience it all. Rein could feel the electric thrum of his eagerness rising to the surface, he was excited, and that was a dull description of how he really felt. He felt a magnitude of emotions, all pointing to one clear-cut feeling... impatient. He was just ready to get out there and start.
As he was working through his emotions, Rein could just barely make out the foot falls of Ryder's boots. Ryder exited from the darkest of shadows and stood just underneath a ribbon of pale moonlight that was streaming through the trees. He was dressed in a fitting black t-shirt, his hair was slicked back to perfection, he wore dark-blue jeans and his signature black-leather gloves to complete his outfit. They were dressed the same, right down to the gloves. Must be a twin thing?
Rein grinned, his deep dimples denting his cheeks as he hugged his Brother, "I wasn't sure you were going to show. Are you ready to hunt, Brother?"
Rein released Ryder and smiled as he watched Ryder run his fingers through his gelled hair, smoothing it back into place, an impish smirk appearing on his face, "I'm always ready to hunt for my Dolls. Watch and learn, Brother."
They strolled out of the trees as if they didn't have a care in the world and got into their vehicles before driving away. The twins parked their vehicles away from the alley of their target. Inside the alleyway was a back door to a very popular club. Inside the club is where their victim is located and that's where they began as they exited their vehicles and strolled cockily inside of, "Seducing."
Once the twins entered the club through the back entrance, immediately, the strong thrum of the base vibrated inside their chests, the incandescent black light's illuminated the walls, ceiling, and lit up Rein's tattoos as if they were bio-luminescent. The Brother's shared in looking around the club before giving each other a nod of approval and making their way to the back booth; that's where they could stick to the darkest parts of the venue and inconspicuously search for Heather Pratt. She was, of course, Rein's pick. With long, tanned legs, flaming-red hair and crystal blue eyes -- how could he not choose her? Her heart-shaped face was complete with a cute button nose to match and the thickest red lips imaginable. He had a lot of plans for those lips. The twins simultaneously envisioned her running from them, begging, pleading for help. Course, once she was in their line of vision, that's when it was decidedly over for her. There would never be an escape for Heather - except through death.
