Chapter Nineteen - The Ultimate Hunt

Ryder watched her leave, the cop car following closely behind her. He would need to be a lot more careful around her in the future. She could never know who or what he is. Sure, he could reveal some personal things from his childhood, anything other than that, no. She can't ever find out that he is The Ghost.

What would she think of him? Would she be disgusted? Would she still want him? Would she turn him in? Would she think he was a monster?

Ryder shook his head exasperated as he went back into his studio, turned off all the lights, and locked the door behind him. He then climbed into Ruby, his reliable truck, and stuck the key into the ignition and turned. The engine clicked.

Nothing.

Ryder creased his brows, muttering, "What the fuck?" He made sure that he filled her with fuel until she was nearly brimming over. He made sure she always had new parts when she needed it. He climbed out of his truck and popped the hood. The truck light illuminated above him, shining under the lid and glistened over her insides - revealing all her glory. His fingers couldn't help but to brush over the different parts of his baby. As he was caressing her inner most intimate parts, he saw it. The spark plugs had been tampered with.

Ryder growled in frustration. Who would want to fuck with him?

He stayed to himself, (except when dealing with clients), and on the outside he looked like any regular guy. He held down  a respectable job, never caused a ruckus.

He rubbed the stubble on his jaws as he mulled over the possibilities and sighed heavily. It appears he has a stalker now as well.

They were fucking with the wrong man.

Ryder closed the lid after fixing the plugs and climbed back into the driver's side. There, beside him, on the dash above the wheel - lay a note.

His fingers snatched it up and unfolded it, his eyes drinking in every word.

"I know who you are and I know what you do. Meet me tonight at two-thirty am. If you do not show, it could be bad for Layla. ;)"

"What the bloody hell is going on here!?"

Ryder angrily started Ruby up and drove off in search of his next victim. He has been watching her for a month now. She was so feisty and had an enormous amount of fire inside her. He couldn't wait to rip it out of her. She was a Creeper, his Creeper Doll. That is what she did, after all. She waited until her husband and children slept - safe and snug in their beds - unaware of what dear Mummy and wife was up to in the middle of the night.

Ryder watched her sneak out of her own home, walking amongst the shadows. He would follow behind her from a distance, keeping her in his line of sight, but staying far enough away that she never suspected she was being followed. His eyes was hard and focused as she walked alone in the dark for a while, and then, Creeper Doll would head to the graveyard, where she kept her hidden art supplies in a Mausoleum.

He would watch her sit in the dark, cold graveyard and draw out her darkest of fantasies. It was too easy. He knew that once he had seen her, he would have her. Ryder grinned as he watched her slide her earbuds in, faintly being able to hear the music, recognizing the song Bleed For Me by Digital Daggers.
