Davina stared at the older man, confusion knitting her brow. "What can I do?" she asked, her voice uncertain.
He smiled, calm and unfazed. "You can bring me back to life."
Davina blinked, waiting for a laugh or some sign he was joking, but his expression didn't change. He was serious.
"How am I supposed to bring back a thousand-year-old vampire?" she nearly shouted, her frustration growing. But his smile remained steady.
"Young Davina Claire," Mikael said softly, "you are far more powerful than you realize. I can help you access the spells you need to accomplish this, but there's something else..." His voice trailed off, and Davina raised an eyebrow, sensing more complications.
"What?"
"You're going to need help—someone who despises Niklaus as much as I do."
Davina was baffled. She knew Klaus had no shortage of enemies, but who would actually align themselves with his vengeful father?
"Who is it?" she asked, her determination settling in. If she needed another ally—even a dangerous one—then so be it.
Mikael's grin widened. "I'm sure you've heard of her." He paused for effect. "You need to find Rhea Monroe."
