"Hey are you okay?" He asked me, looking into my eyes.

I smiled and touched his hand, "I'm fine, I'm just thinking, that's all."

"What about?" He asked. I looked up at him and shrugged, "just stuff, about how before my best friend died everything was normal, I was normal."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," I whispered, "I just wish Millie was here to meet you, properly I mean. I had a dream before she died where she talked to me. She told me to let her go, it was the hardest thing I had to do." He stroked my cheek.

"It's going to be okay, you're going to get through this."

"I know," I said, "I'm glad you're here with me, without you I'm pretty sure I would have gone off the rails."

"I doubt that. What's the one thing you do when you're sad?"

"Usually watch TV." I replied.

"Netflix?"

"Yeah, Netflix."

"Why don't you just wake up and watch Netflix, to let you forget."

"I don't think I need Netflix to forget anymore, I think I just need someone."

"Like who?" He asked.

I opened my mouth to reply when I suddenly woke up, sweating.

Times like this I wish I had my best friend to talk to I thought to myself. I shook my head and lay down once again, trying to fall asleep.

But I didn't.

I looked at the clock:

2:00 it read, I bit my lip and looked over my phone. Should I? No, he'll be pissed if I call him at this time.

That was when my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey, sorry if I woke you, I just had a dream and I couldn't get back to sleep."

"What kind of dream was it?" I asked carefully.

"Pretty sure I don't need to answer that."

"You had the same dream?"

"Yes, I did, at least I think I did."

"I talked about my best friend and what I did when I was feeling sad?"

"Yeah you said Netflix right?"

"Right." I confirmed.

"Though the dream suddenly stopped, you didn't finish your sentence."

"You're right, I didn't."

"What were you going to say?"

Should I tell him? I asked myself. No, at least not yet.

"I'll tell you-" I started

"Okay, what were you going to say?"

"-but I'll tell you in the morning," I said, "that is if we meet up."

He sighed, he sounded disappointed.

"Okay, night." He whispered.

"Goodnight." I mumbled, before hanging up.

I smiled to myself before closing my eyes, and falling asleep, I really needed a good nights sleep.
**
The next day, we met up, and honestly my feelings for him, just became deeper and deeper I didn't know what was happening.

"Hi," I said, my heart fluttering as I spoke. He grinned at me,

"How are you?" He asked.

"I'm fine thank you, what's got you in a good mood."

"Oh nothing just something someone told me last night."

"You figured out?" I asked.

"Nope, but you did tell me you'd tell me, so... Can you?"

"Later," I promised. "I think I need to practise magic I apparently have."

"Ah yes!" He said, "okay... Forgive me if I'm bad at this. Let's try a candle first, to try and get it to light."

"Okay... Where are we going to find a candle?" I asked.

"Your cave?" He offered, "or even your house, a shop."

I rolled my eyes, "I get it, I get it! Jeez."

With that we went to somewhere we could find a candle. Which was indeed the cave, I happened to have candles around the place.

Half an hour into trying (very hard may I add) to light one candle, it just wasn't working.

"Okay, close your eyes," Jeremy said, I looked at him confused, "trust me," I sighed and closed my eyes. "Now think of someone, anyone that makes your heart go out of control either out of anger or love or friendship, keep thinking about it and it should work." So I did, and as I held the candle in my hand the stick finally flamed up, not just that every candle that was in our sight sparked and lit up.

I opened my eyes and gasped. I looked around, "I just lit up the room."

"You just lit up the room," Jeremy repeated smiling at me.

I grinned at him and put the candle down before I jumped into his arms, I hugged him tightly, "this is amazing." I whispered.

I pulled away from him, "thank you," he smiled.

"You don't grow up with an evil father that can do magic for nothing." He joked.

"I'd love to do magic where I can produce a flame in my hand."

"You can," he said, "do exactly what did before just with your hand."

"It's not that easy you know," I said, "this isn't exactly a fantasy TV show."

"No I know, but you're powerful, you can do it." He said, and so I did exactly what he told me to do.

Nothing happened.

"Maybe we need to work on it." I said, when suddenly there was a crash from outside.

"I don't think we have time to work on it."

I swallowed, "oh god, is that...?

"Yeah, it's... My father," he turned to me, "you can do this. I believe in you."

"I can't I'm not ready." I said to him, "I'm really, really not ready, how am I supposed to do this when I don't even know what I can do with my magic."

"You can beat my father, that's what you were destined to do, alright? I have faith in you, I believe in you."

Whether he believed in me or not, we didn't have enough time.

So I did what he told me again, holding out my hand, and soon there was a flame in my hand.

I looked at him, "I did it." He smiled at me, as I swallowed, "let's do this." With that his father and his men charged in and I did what I was destined to do, I threw the flame towards him, but before I couldn't even think, I started going dizzy and then everything just went black...

A/N : hope you enjoyed! Sorry if lately this hasn't been as good, but someone suggested a cliffhanger and so here's a cliffhanger for you. This still has like 12 chapters and an epilogue to go, so it's quite far away from Jeremy's father being defeated, on the plus side, she's discovered her powers or at least some of them, and she's started to feel more for him. Anyway I hope you enjoyed and if you did be sure to leave me a comment below or a vote because I'd love to hear your feedback guys! Okay bye guys!! <3
