Chapter 4 The Swimming Club

“Umi-chan.” Gou happily called her then runs towards her direction.

            “G-Gou” she answered. Gou is now clinging on her.

            “Hey it’s Kou.” Gou corrected. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

            “I was about to return a book from Ama-chan sensei but the teacher told me that she is here so I decided to go here.” Umi explained.

            “Ah, yes she’s here, come” Gou said as she drags Umi inside the pool facility.

            “Ama-chan sensei Umi-chan is here for you.” Gou said.

            “What can I do for you Umi?” sensei asked.

            “I just want to return your book personally, thank you for letting me borrow this.” She said as she gives the book.

            “You’re welcome, I’m glad that you like reading it.” Sensei said.

            A splash of water is heard the trio look at the source of the noise.

            “He can’t swim until now.” Gou said.

            “Its ok Rei just try again.” Nagisa said.

            “Even Haru can’t help Rei learn to swim.” Makoto said.

            “Let’s just take a break for a while.” He added.

            “Hey Umi-chan I’m glad you’re here.” Nagisa said as she notices her.

            All the boys are got up on the pool now.

            “Umi-chan, what are you doing here by the way.” Makoto asked.                   

            “I just return a book from Ama-chan sensei.” She answered nonchantly.

            “Ah Umi-chan, we form a swimming team and I’m the manager.” Gou said happily.

            “Yeah, and Makoto is the captain, Haru is the vice-captain and I’m the treasurer.” Nagisa added.

            “And oh, this is Ryugasaki Rei our new member.” Nagisa added again.

            “Rei this is Natsuki Umi.” Nagisa introduces her.

            “She is a year ahead of us but you’re calling her Umi-chan.” He said to the two other freshmen.

            “It’s ok with her, right Umi-chan.” Gou said                         

            “Yeah it’s alright.” Umi answered. “I need to go now, I have to do something.” She added.

            “Already, but we don’t talk much Umi-chan, want to have some tea?” Gou said with puppy eyes.

            “I’m sorry Gou but I can’t. I need to go now.” She said. Then she goes to the exit.

            Gou frowned as she looks at her friend as it goes away.

            “It’s ok Gou maybe next time she can hang out with us.” Makoto said.

            “It’s not about that, it was just… she is not like before. She never smiles since we meet again.” She explained. “She used to smile to everyone she helps all who is needed that’s why everyone in the town loves her. But now, she’s different.” She added.

            “Maybe she is just adjusting cause you meet again recently.” Nagisa said.

            “I’m afraid that she will be like onii-san.” She said.
