"Hey mom, this is Toby." He gushes.

"I am so pleased to meet you, Toby!" The woman with a stylish band around her head smiles, and glistening eyes says, and I try to shake her hand, but she hugs me before I get the chance.

"I'm so happy to meet you, Ms. Fields. Avi has told me a lot about you." I tell her. She holds my hands, and then looks at Avi. She looks so happy.

I wasn't sure this would be a good idea, and I'm still not sure. But good idea or not it was worth it just to see that smile.

I lean over Avi's chest again, in a simple yet lovely gesture, and he caresses my hair gently. The rooms' window is closed, but the curtain are opened, and a ray of sunlight enhances Avi's hair, and then he looks at me, hugs me and kisses my forehead. Makes me feel safe...

Makes me feel like this is for real, and if it's not, I want it to be. Makes me feel weird, looking at Avi from this angle. Makes me feel kind of like I felt with Jack, but a little different. Makes me feel like lying down beside him and do nothing, nothing but stare at him and talk.

But that's not what friends do.

I guess it's a very thin line between fake and real feelings.

I try to shake off whatever this is and focus on the mission.

"Toby and I are gonna grab something to eat, ma, we'll see you later, okay?" Avi says, and she nods.

We leave the room and start walking to a Starbucks across the street. Avi is radiant. He's not smiling from ear to ear because he's not that kind of guy, but I know he's exceedingly happy, on the Avi scale.

"I'm so happy we did this." I tell him.

"So am I." He replies, without taking his eyes off the street.

"Thank you for letting me meet her. She's even better then I imagined." I say. He looks at me, but doesn't say anything, he just stairs for a while, with smiling eyes. "What?"

"Nothing." He answers. I chuckle.

"Come on, what is it?"

"I don't know." He says, scratching his eyebrow. "I just... I didn't expect it go like that."

"Like what?"

He sighs, as if he didn't want to say it.

"I don't know." He says again. And I accept that he doesn't want to share right now.

"So, your friends are pretty cool." He tells me, while we are sitting down at a table for 2 drinking our coffee's at Starbucks.

I smile. If he didn't like Gus and Ace, I wouldn't even look at him again.

"I know." I say.

"How'd you guys meet?"

"We're cousins." I tell him, and he looks surprised. "So it's been the trio since I was born."

"That's so cool." He takes a sip of his drink. "And who was that other guy that was quiet for the whole night?"

"Oh, that was Isaac. He's so sweet, and really shy too. Gus has a crush on him." Yes, I purposely put that last part in there, because it's of extreme importance that I see his reaction.
