"Toby?" Gus asks, his eyebrows frigid and surprised.
"Can I come in?"
He opens the door to his room and let's me in, surrendering.
"What, uh, what are you doing here?" He asks. I sit on his bed. "I mean, I'm glad you're here... What's... What's up?"
"I need you." I tell him.
"For what?"
"Everything."
"I don't understand."
"This was it. This was me without you and I didn't like it. I'm ready to forgive you now."
He smiles big. "Toby, I'm really happy to hear this. But..." He sits beside me. "I'm not sure I'm ready to forgive me. All this time, without you knowing the truth, I'd been able to avoid it. But after you found out I had to deal with it. With the horrible thing I did. You're my best friend... And I betrayed you. For a guy!" He says, almost crying.
I touch his shoulder, in a friendly manner. "It's okay. We can let go of all of that now. We can learn from that."
He looks emotional. "Thank you."
I just smile.
"Now what did I miss?" He asks.
I smirk.
"A hell of a lot."
