The Bride

Star felt beads of sweat trickle down her forehead. She was in a dimly lit room chained to a metal wall. She struggled to get free, but every time she tried to move, the shackles on her wrists and ankles grew tighter, digging into her skin. Star sat on the floor, tears streaming down her face.

She had left Earth, and she wanted to go back so badly. But how could she? She'd had seen the look of misery on Robins face as she left. She sighed, leaning her head against the wall. Her head shot up as she heard a noise from the other end of the room. A door opened, and rays of brilliant light fell upon her face. A dark, tall figure approached her, but as it came closer, Star saw it was a girl, dressed in baggy, crude clothing.

''Hello, Miss,'' the girl said. Star waved. ''Can you please assist me in getting off these shackles?'' Star asked, holding out her hands. ''Yes, Miss,'' the girl said, lifting up her arm. ''Hold still, Miss,'' the girl said as a small pink ray shot at the shackle. It broke in two, falling to bits on the ground. Star rubbed her sore wrist, thanking the girl. ''No thanks, Miss. Tis my job.''

The girl led Star down a long hallway, giving her a tour of her new home. ''This is Magnesium, planet 5097345, is ruled by our powerful leader, Lord Magnus, Miss.'' The girl said as they walked. ''He is 20, the age to marry, but none of the women of our planet please him. We searched elsewhere. First on Astrion, but only squid-things inhabit there..next we moved on to Zanthion. We found bands of Tameran people there, and they said a beautiful Tameranian princess named Starfire lived on Tameran. We checked into it, and sure enough, there you were! I must say, Miss, how lovely ya are.''

Star thanked her. ''Now, Miss, you are being led to the Prep chamber to be prepared to see our ruler. If he likes you and you please him, you will be married soon. Try to please him best you can.'' The girl stopped as she pushed Star into a room. Star found herself alone in a room full of clothing from all galaxies. She walked down the long room, reading labels marked on dressers. She came to one marked Tameran Royal and opened it. Star smiled in delight as she saw a Royal Battle suit.

It was one of the finest she'd ever seen, with black gossamer cloth and Moon silver.(This is the same suit Blackfire always wears) However, unlike most Battle suits, this one had a purple gemstone in the center. Star put on the suit quickly, then walked around the room to find a mirror. Star brushed her hair with her fingers, slicking it down, then adjusted her crown on her head.( The crown Star wore for her ''wedding'' to that green slime thing in one episode)

She looked sharp, and she knew what her plan was. She was interrupted from her thoughts by the girl who had brought her to the room. ''Miss you look lovely, although Lord Magnus doesn't have much taste for Tameran suits. I suppose it custom to ya, so follow me. Now you and Lord Magnus's meeting will be private, so here's a few tips. He likes polite girls, and he is very classy. Now, here we are.'' The girl stopped at a large door encrusted with gold and moon silver. The girl walked in first saying,'' Lord, sir? We've brought you the Tameranian Princess.'' She backed out as overhead lights flew on, and a very attractive boy stood, dressed in a gold breast plate marked LM and a purple cape. In his hand, there was a bronze staff with Emeralds stuck in it. He smiled at her.

''Ah, Princess Starfire, Ruler of Tameran,'' Magnus said. ''Welcome to Magnesium.'' Star bowed to him for respect, and he did the same. ''I am here to speak with you of the.. arrangements.'' Magnus nodded. ''I wish to have a powerful queen to help rule over Magnesium.''  Star nodded. ''But, sir, I am not the one you seek. You see, I am needed on Earth, for I am a Teen Titan, protector of Jump City.''

Lord Magnus shook his head. ''You are the one I've been looking for. You are known all over the galaxy for your beauty, although Tamerans are despised.'' Star nodded. ''Now, my dearest Starfire, Koriander, would you be my wife?'' Star sighed. ''Lord Magnus, although the offer is very nice, I regretfully must decline the offer. I will not marry you.'' Lord Magnus chuckled. ''Of course you will. It was more of a command than a question. If you are in my domain, I have power over you, Troq! Now, do as I say, and get ready for our wedding, which is to be held tonight!'' He waved his staff, and green rays engulfed Star. ''OWWW!!"' Star cried as the rays zapped her skin painfully.

The girl came into the room, and a paralyzed Star was thrust into her hands. ''Take my wife to be to the Prep Chamber, and have the Ladies in Waiting prepare her.'' The girl sighed, looking down at Star. ''Yes, Lord Magnus. It will be done at once.''
