Uninvited Guests

As soon as the meeting with Star was over, Lord Magnus had over 1,000 messengers run through the streets of his city, alerting his subjects of the marriage which was to be that very night. Every citizen rushed to get ready, knowing any citizen that did not attend would be punished severely. As the citizens and all Royals prepared, Robin and the team were just arriving in Magnesium's atmosphere.

''Robin, we must land the T-ship in the remote areas of Magnesium. Guards wait at the entrance and outskirts of the cities on this planet.'' Blackfire said. ''How do we get in?'' asked Cyborg. Blackfire smiled. ''Easy, of course. I am Blackfire, second in line to the throne of Tameran, the bride's sister. I have to attend the wedding, don't I?''

The 5  headed for the main city, Magnus, where the wedding was being held. As they approached the city's gates, guards rushed at the group. ''State your business!'' barked one guard. ''Don't you know who I am, you idiot!?'' yelled Blackfire. ''No! Again, state your business!'' the guard yelled back. ''I am Komander, second in line to the throne of Tameran. My sister is marrying your Ruler.'' The guard looked frozen. ''Well? Let us in, and show some respect to me and my friends! All your men must bow before me, and carry us to the Grand Palace immediately!'' The guard saluted as he yelled over a communicator:'' Make way for the sister of the bride, Komander, second in line to the throne of Tameran!'' In sequence, every guard bowed as the city's gates were opened and the group was escorted into the city of Magnus.

Meanwhile at the palace....

Star was carried into a fine bathroom. White marble made up the bath, and several finely dressed ladies help Star into a clawed bathtub. They poured warm water over her as they washed her. Star felt so alone and sad. Was this her destiny? To yield to a loveless marriage to a very accomplished man? The ladies wrapped Star in a bathrobe and led her to a very fine room. The walls were crème color, with coral pink accents. White porcelain furniture was in the room, as well as a vanity covered with pretty bottles of perfume. The ladies left the room except for one, who was brushing out Star's thick hair.

''How beautiful you are!'' exclaimed the woman. ''By far you are the prettiest queen we've ever had.'' Star sighed deeply. ''I am sure Lord Magnus is nice, but I do not like him.'' Star said. The woman became stern. ''Now, they'll be none of that. You are Lord Magnus's chosen queen. You should be grateful.'' Star shook her head. ''I do not wish to be his wife. I do not love him.'' The woman put her hands on her hips. ''You'll learn to love him.'' Star shook her head, tears falling down her cheeks. ''How can I when I love another?'' The woman looked sadly at Star.

''I understand, sweetie. Lord Magnus's mother was the same. She was a pretty thing, as young as you, too. She was forced into marriage, and as she was led down the aisle, she was screaming for her lover to save her. She married our deceased ruler, and they both, after the wedding night, barely spoke to one another. She carried on, having parties with friends and nobles, raising her child, why, she barely knew she was married.'' Star nodded, then with a burst of curiosity, asked,'' Where is she?'' The woman looked down, as if hurt. ''She died a few months ago. She was my best friend.''

Meanwhile in the city streets...

Blackfire led Robin, Raven, Cy, and BB through the streets, waving and blowing kisses. ''Welcome the sister of the bride, Komander, and friends of the bride, Robin Boy Wonder, Raven, Beastboy, and Cyborg!'' shouted a small messenger who led them through the crowded streets. People were pushing to see the brides sister, as well as celebrate the almost new addition to the Royal Family. Robin had forced a smile, while Raven flew above, her hood over her head. Beastboy was wooing Magnesium girls by transforming into earth animals, and Cyborg simply walked, waving. They all reached the Palace within 5 minutes, and guards opened the doors of the hall, letting in the guests. ''Oh, wow! They live so luxuriously!'' cried Blackfire, admiring the pure gold walls and ancient paintings and velvet drapes.

''Welcome, my honored guests,'' said a husky voice. They all looked to see Lord Magnus. He looked extra handsome due to his uniform. He wore a moon silver breastplate embedded with rubies and gold; his trousers were a rich red velvet, and he wore a dashing white cape. ''Ah, I assume you are Blackfire, Princess of Tameran.'' Magnus said, bending over to kiss her hand. Blackfire dully accepted and after she bowed to him. Lord Magnus looked at the Titans expectedly. ''Your very rude friends do not bow?! Have they no respect?'' Blackfire's eyes grew big. ''Please, Lord Magnus, excuse them. They are from Earth, planet 237654, and they do not share our customs.'' Lord Magnus grunted. ''They are excused. Yet, still I find them rude. Ah well, if you are attending the wedding, you all must be prepared at once.'' A maid escorted them to different chambers, handing them each a suit.

Robin had a tight spandex suit with blue and white features; Raven dressed in a white robe and her usual belt and shoes; Beastboy had a green vest with purple pants and undershirt; Cyborg decided not to wear the suit; and Blackfire, being royal, was given a red dress with black lace up the sides. After dressing, they all were escorted to a main dining hall, were wedding guests had began to show. A table a quarter-mile long was covered with odd food. ''Man, we're so hungry, and this food is ...moving?!'' BB and Cy complained. ''Oh, hush,'' Blackfire said. ''They all are delicacies. This,'' said Blackfire, pointing at a small squid plate, 'Is Klorshnoff, and that over there is Shoshernuff guts with a Klorfbog sauce.''  BB looked at her his eyes big,'' Do they have pizza?"'

They were interrupted by the sound of large doors opening, and a butler stood, a tray in his hand. ''If everyone will come this way to the Wedding Hall.'' Hordes of people piled in to long pews with soft cushions on them. The whole place was lovely, with the alter embedded with rare Moon Swamp gemstones and purple flowers. Robin, Blackfire, BB, Cy and Rae sat in the very front pew nearest the alter. Within a few minutes, Lord Magnus was standing at the alter, waiting for Star. The bride song played, and the large doors opened. A few flower girls decked in gold came out throwing rare Moon Swamp lilies. 'Star is so lucky. She'll be living in luxury the rest of her life,'' said Blackfire. ''And her to be husband has stolen my heart.'' Robin was silent as Star walked down the aisle.
