Chapter 1: Attack on Dauntless

Embers POV:

"Once we call your name, take the knife to your hand, cut your hand and drop no more than 1 drop of blood into the bowl of your selected faction" the Amity announcer said clasping his hands together. Then his face got serious. "You are reauired as of this year, have atleast a C in your schooling to choose, if you do not hear your name, you dont choose. To make this easier i have been given a list of those who cant choose." he pulled out a white tablet and tapped the screen a few times and glanced up at the audience. "My list here, reads"
"Eren Smith: Dauntless"
"Madison Eres: Erudite" when he said this name the Erudites gasped.
"James Hopcraft: Amity"
"Kailea Hearth: Dauntless"
"Ethel Hape: Abnegation"
"Screila Jack: Dauntless"
"And that concludes it! Please step out of line and over here if you have been called. Raise those marks! You have until next week at this time to get atleast a B. Now we will begin with our choosing!"

Several initates were called, seems alot of people are choosing Dauntless this year. The few people infront of me got called, then it was my turn. I was sure I was red at this point. I stumbled up the stairs, grabbed the black knife, I ran my fingers across the cool metal, and sliced my hand. I flinched a little but shook it off, i put my hand over the Dauntless coals and dropped some blood in. Every one clapped as the announcer grabbed my hand and yelled "Dauntless!". The Dauntless clapped and whooted. As i walked off stage I was face to face with my boyfriend. He grabbed me and kissed me. After our romance session we walked over to the initates section. I saw a girl from Amity, a girl from Candor, Abnegation and a boy from Erudite. These pansies will break at the sight of the training room, especialy the boy, they have it worse. The Abnegation girl, ive seen her before. She was in my math class, i think her name was Eadlyn... I dont remeber right off hand. My thoughs were interrupted by the sound of alarms. "Everyone! To the streets!" a Amity man yelled as he was the first to flee. "Everyone! Stay right where you are!" my dad said as he stood so calmly. "My faction will handle this. As a matter of fact i might make this the initatation test. Alright" he said turning to us. "Grab the guns, the ammo, and there are some clothes in the towers you will be stationed in" my father said still yelling and adressing the crowd of panicing people. My mother stood up, "EVERYONE DO NOT MOVE! MY HUSBAND SAID DAUNTLESS HAS THIS COVERED. STAY HERE. THE REBELS WONT KNOW YOU ARE HERE. BUT IF YOU LISTEN SO THAT BAST-" my father cut her off "What she is trying to say is, the intruders are at the South gates. You all should be safe here." he pointed twards me and my boyfriend. "You two, come with me" he flagged us down. "Stay here, teach the intiates what they need to know, how to put on the uniform and how to fire the guns. Me and your mother will help you too." he said as we sprinted twards the ammo room.
"Is it the army again?" I asked.
"Worse. Its the Genetic Labs. They want to kill us" my mother said franticly grabbing grenades. I heard a faint knock at the door. "Yes?" my father said pausing. The Abnegation girl walked in. "I regret to inform you sir, they are in the building according to the Amity man, whos name isnt bastard but Willard Williams." she said bravely. "Shit" my dad said. He handed me a gun looking thing and some tubes of orance luquid. "Aim at them, this serum will erase their memory and we can keep them captivem, and make an example." my dad said loading the tranqualizer. "Where are the other initates?" my father asked. "Behind me. We are ready to help!" she walked forward, the candor,amity and eruidte boy stepped forward. "where are my Dauntless Borns?" my father asked. "They went with General Ames and -" everything went black.
