One, two three I mumbled as I counted strawberries for my lunch. My mom entered the kitchen, "time for school, Aria." i nodded and smiled at her. "Good luck today on your test, remember choose happiness!" she added sweetly. "Yes, choose happieness. Bye mother, see you soon! Please dont let Avery in my paints, i worked very hard to make them" she nodded.
I walked out of the house and hopped into my brother, James, red truck. Trucks were mainly what we Amity use to haul produce back and fourth between our farm and the city, where i go to school. "Hey, goodluck today Aria. Hope you get the faction you want" i looked at him. "I beg of your pardon?"
"Well" he said as he started the truck " Dont make my mistake and stay here, do you seriously think i wanted to be amungst these people?" he said pointing twards a family of 5 in orange and red. "That was mean!" i snapped slapping him in the sholder making him swerve. "Touch me one more goddamned time, see if i dont knock you factionless" he spat. I crossed my arms and looked put the window. I cant stay here and deal with him, i thought. This was the first time id ever consitered leaving Amity. But after the little stunt my brother just pulled... not even going to go there.
"Look, Aria. I didnt stay here in Amity for my family or you of all people. Im here so i can get closer to whats outside of the wall. I want to know whats out there, i went digging in the factionless trash yesterday during the fruit loading and found a picture of a city called "New York City" it looked full of people and life, no factions, no labels, they just looked free!" my brother smiled at this. "Why do you want to leave? Is here not good enough for you? Selfish bastard" i spat at him. "I can tell you are Candor material eh?" he laughed at his own words. Thats it, jerk i thought.
I reached over and unlocked the door of the truck, and pulled the door open. "You crazy bitch" my brother said i could tell that he was speeding up. "Im not crazy" i unbuckled, grabbed my bag and tumbled out. I rolled for a little ways, then after a few seconds of just laying in the grass i let a loud laugh expel from my mouth "WHOOHOO! THAT WAS AMAZING!" i jumped up and smiled. My brother's truck was no where in sight. I wanna do that again! i thought.
"Well i guess id better go to school" i said putting my hands on my hips. "OW!" i looked and my right arm it was all scraped up and bloody. Oh well, warrior's gotta come out of battle with a few scratches i thought as i walked twards the fence. I saw a Dauntless fence guard there.
"Name, Age, and Faction"
"Aria Sailor Evers, 16, Amity"
"You have a big test today dont you?" he looked up at me. He is kinda cute....
"Yep! Although i feel pretty damn sure about my decison"
He looked a little shocked by this "You are the first! I saw what you did there when you jumped out of your brother's truck, you would fit right in with the Dauntless! Im a initate instructor, id love to see you in dauntless" he said.THIS CHAPTER WAS LONGER, 😀 enjoy this chapter :3 feel free to tell me what i miss spelled!
